In North Wales at the moment and the local Spar sells a can of coke for 91p!

Yes 91p, does that sound right to you or is it just plain old profiteering?

is it just plain old profiteering?

prof·i·teer noun \?prä-f?-?tir\

Definition of PROFITEER

: one who makes what is considered an unreasonable profit especially on the sale of essential goods during times of emergency
— profiteer intransitive verb

Is Coke essential? Is there an emergency in North Wales?

This suggests you may not be local.

Did you pay the "English" price?

^^^ Popped to the continent on business this week and the magazine shop at Amsterdam airport wanted 15€ for an English MTB mag, that's around £14 😳

Now that's an English price. And profiteering... From my perspective it was pretty urgunt as the flight was delayed and I was bored sh**less.

Here in South Yorkshire a small Dairy Milk in our Co-op is 78 pence. Seventy. Eight. Pence. For 50 grams of chocolate. Mad.

Thats the everyone price - modern till system. Why just fleece tourists when there's locals you can rip off all year round.

There's only 2 grocery shops in Abersoch, bit of a captive market really.

If you ever come here bring some emergency coke (the drink) with you.

I paid 12€ for a copy of Vice magazine* in Amsterdam when I lived there and at the time it was free in the UK.

Not me!
The one over the road changed to a Premier and the name of our house (Spaview) doesn't amuse passers by anymore 😥

Lol, when I saw the first post I was going to ask if it was Ruabon or Abersoch. In Abersoch you get in your white Range Rover Sport and pop back to a Waitrose in Cheshire. Or make do with Magners over ice at a fiver a pop in St Tuds. We're by the beach at Llangwnadl at half term.
