just building a small extension and wondering how many velux to install, the roof will be north/south facing and used for breakfast and evenings, would a third in glass be too much? i can get blinds, but they are stupidly expensive, its an open ceiling by the way,any experience

Drop me a line a info@kalablinds.co.uk for some slightly less expensive than stupidly expensive prices for blinds.

get my velux blinds from either Blinds 2 go or 24 7 blinds

Ordered loads from both and had no problems ordering from either, easy peasy to fit velux blinds. Make sure you get the code of the window, to get the right blind.

If the blinds are out of reach the solar powered or electric operation are good.

We have three Velux but it's a largish room with an open ceiling, it is approx 15' across but we haven't bothered with any blinds, our windows face west.
The only problems we have encountered is keeping them clean or getting at them to clean them. Also flys and wasps will drive you mad buzzing away above you.
Plus points are sitting there listening to the rain hammering away on the glass and looking up at the starry sky at night.
I wouldn't bother with blinds the cost on our three was stupid, they are Velux brand.

We have two velux in a south facing 14ft x 8ft extension - I think they are 2ft x 3ft windows.

Don't have blinds on them though - never seen a need.

Found some pics of the kitchen before it was finished.
