How did we cope pre mobiles? I don't think I've ever had a busier day, stress factor 10 but still loving the site crack.
Call number 76....
How did we cope pre mobiles?
Perfectly well. See, also, email.
Perfectly well
Often better in fact...
Phone calls, what are they?
Phones are used to messaging, browsing, social media, music and photos. I almost never use my mobile to actually speak to someone 😀
I do have a separate phone I use for work. I never answer it. Oh, I was in a meeting etc 😀
None!!
You must be old. Calls are about the only thing people don't use there phones for these days. Not made a single call (but I'm not at work).
None, which is pretty normal for me.
Yep, calling is about the last thing my phone is used for!
It’s maybe a construction thing.
I use my phone to make calls a lot too. Usually because there’s shit IT capabilities on sites.
Only four. But they added up to about five hours of my day. My ears are bleeding.
My boss phoned me yesterday... but none today. Zilch.
2 conference call/webex things. 20 mins were useful, 2 hours weren't.
Usually because there’s shit IT capabilities on sites.
Jeez, will you give up whinging about the new forum.
About 10 if we count Skype calls.
0 if we're talking about classic someone phoned me on a number thing.
Teams and Skype been busy though
None for me - loads of messaging and visits to colleagues to chat about stuff (so preferable to a meeting). Everyone's work style is different though, plus ca change. I was a recruitment consultant for a short while (did it long enough to realise it wasn't for me) and that was the phone heaviest job I've ever done...
Ooh, actually one, spoke to my wife earlier as she's at home and called me.
Usually 0 per week for weeks at a time!
Desk at work has no phone and all the people I work with are in the office so no need to call peoples!
None.
My last phone call was a week last Friday.
I like it this way.
I bought a modern mobile last year to pair with my Lezyne Super GPS for navigation and live tracking, I finally installed a 321 sim card to make calls ~1 month ago (while I've had a prepaid data sim since the start), yet to use any of the £10 credit.
None on the mobile, in fact I don't think I've looked at it all day. One from the landline - arranging for the CH/HW boiler to be serviced - because I happened to be by it when I remembered to ring the guy.
Reaches over 100 for the day. As mentioned above in construction putting specific orders on for concrete etc is a lot easier on the phone. Plus folk ringing for deliveries etc. I'm definitely ready for home tonight!
None
2 on the office phone
None - just looked up call history, I never answer it. Always google unknown numbers. Just use messenger or whatsapp.
4 Skype, 2 made & 2 received
3 Mobile, 2 from the wife & 1 from a guy I’m buying some stuff from.
Sniff.
Is the number of calls a day becoming a thing on sites these days, was on a job the other day trying to get some answers out of the main contractor and all he could do was sit there counting the number of calls he'd received the day before, very odd
Actual calls on an actual telephone? None.
3 group voice call meetings via headset+Skype, plus numerous instant messages and the odd email.
Even outside of the office I rarely use my phone to actually talk to people unless I'm in the car.
The same as the last two weeks or so. Zero
3 or 4 .
the day i get 76 , i ll quit on the spot ;
None this month. Maybe in November
I called my mum tonight!
Just the 1, and the person I wanted to talk to wasn't there but I haven't been at work. At work on the busiest days I guess it's not far off 100, I've never really thought about it before. None of them are on a mobile and most of them are very brief, 30 seconds is probably a long call.
None, same as every other day of the week. I get, on average, one or two calls a month, and make few more than that.
2 calls. I work from home so normally its a work thing if I but texts and emails are usually so much quicker.
Today was one quick call from the sales guy about an advert and one from a mate wanting to discuss which pub to meet at as he couldn't remember which pub had the attractive barmaid on a Tuesday. (Correct answer: all of them if you drink enough.)
