I've recently cut back my pant collection to a single pant that I felt would work in most circumstances. There were a lot I only used on rare occasions and though nice to have, I couldn't really justify their upkeep any more.
I dumped all the others in favour of an all-mountain silky boxer which has worked admirably so far. But I'm beginning to think I should have held onto the freeride thong for these conditions rather than selling it on ebay.
Anyway, If you had to choose one pair of pants, to do it all. What would you recommend?
In any given day, I don't usually get through as any pairs of pants as I'd like.

On the subject of merino pants...i've found mine quite uncomfortable, hot and sweaty. They are Finisterre ones and too thick between the thighs.
Two pairs.
Chucked mine at the wall this morning.They slid down,so fine for another week.
Anything breathable really- keeps me down to one a day..
I imagine, on a day like this, Darcy has gone through a weeks supply.
