Only one - CBR600R F4i, passed my test, enjoyed it, sold after a year in 2010 and haven't ridden since.

Partly because I smashed my arm up in an MTB crash and I don't fancy my chances if I wreck it again.

Partly because I haven't got room in my life for two hobbies.

Mostly because of the attitude of other road users.

I always planned to change bikes every year, and go through all the sportsbikes etc, but each of the 3 bikes were always great fun and perfect for the job at hand. The 1st 2 were commuted on all through the year. My current is now in the garage for winter, haven't had the urge to ride in the last few months

FS1E the one with the peddles, from 1973, in burnt Gold, with performance exhaust, what a truly amazing machine.
TL125 trials, off road only and competition only (bought this from a family friend of my Dads, went to a handful of Trials competitions over Wem in Shropshire, didn't do particularly well but enjoyed the 2-stroke stink from all the OSSA's and Montessa Cotas around at the same time) .
RM400 (for two weeks and I'm counting that as it threw me off the back, I sold it to a MX mate, a monster of a bike)
BSA C15 Trials (given to me by my Dad just before he passed away. Handed to me in boxes and two wheels and a frame. Told "fix this up Son, sorry I can't be with you to finish it") It was ace, again off road only. Big brute of a thing that had one piston fire sequence every 100mtrs. Wish I'da kept this thing.
Vespa 250, for riding around Town, sold now as didn't use it much.

I've only had one bike so far but completely hooked

BMW F800GSA

But I'm totally in lust with the BMW S1000XR. 160bhp wakes you up in the morning! Might order one soon!

Back in 2008 the day before my son was born I had a deal with the wife as I wanted to purchase a 2005 Yamaha R1. the deal was I would keep it for 5 years if she gave the green light.

In the next 5 years I owned 32 bikes...

Since 2008 I've owned 40 bikes... I generally have 3-4 per year. Some years I've had 7 though LOL.

I usually have 2 bikes in the garage, 1 for road, 1 for track, so they are often swapped around, changed etc depending on circumstance and what's planned for the year.

Currently I only have a KTM690 Duke4, but I'm planning on changing that asap and adding an R1.

Hi Rachel

I took delivery of a new S1000XR just before xmas. Chuffed with it so far, quick and comfy.

I have a Apilia Tuono V4 APRC as well and its a real heart bike the BMW is more of a head bike.

Love both of them, sold my Daytona 675 track bike to get the BMW. So now will be doing trackdays on the Tuono and I love it 🙂

Pete, I'm afraid my opinion is quite limited as I bought in Nov and the weather turned to rubbish so ive done less than 20 miles on it.

I Rode the demo bike for 3 hours and loved it while my 390 was being serviced, so bought the 690. Will be my road and track bike for this year.

Loads. Over 40, probably-

about 15 FZR400s
3 or 4 SZR660s
few TRX850s
few RS125s
Cagiva Mito (should never have sold it!)
few FZR600s
an FZR1000 Genesis (the Yamasaurus)
Suzuki GSX1000 (1980s twin shock brute)
couple of TW125s
couple of SR250s
an XS250 😆
couple of Sachs XTC125s (2T)
an SRV250
about 10 TZR250s (all 1KT/2MAs- I'd love a 3XV)
GS500- ugh 🙁
RZ250 (japanese import, 250 version of the 350 YPVS)
DT125R
couple of TZR125s
WR200
WR250Z
Beta 280 trials bike
ZZR400 (the worst of both worlds- take a lardy chassis and bung a wheezy, underpowered lump in it- nice one Kawasaki!) Bought to sell on though, in mitigation 😆
XT350
TTR250

and probably a few more that I've forgotten

Suzuki X1 50cc - ended up with a 70cc big-bore kit fitted
Honda CB125TB - lovely pre-restriction bike until destroyed by a driving instructor pulling out in front of me
Kawasaki AR125LC - noisy but fast for a 125

Several years gap until I did my direct access then

Honda Deauville 650 - great bike, kept it for a decade
Honda CRM250R - Lovely bike, did some trail bike races on it
Suzuki DR350SE - Bought all the bits to change it to a long-range trail race bike but them swapped it
Yamaha SR125 - actually my wife's bike but I used to commute on it
Yamaha XT600 - Hated it
Suzuki Bandit 600 - didn't like it much either
2 x Suzuki Bandit 400's (one UK spec and one an import) - preferred them to the 600
2000 Gas Gas Pampera - still have it - not used in years though
2001 Honda CBR600F - bought it new and still have it - not used in years
1987 Honda XBR500 - still got it
2009 Honda CBF1000GT - still have it, the only bike I keep road legal
Aprilia RS50 - actually my sons but still in the garage as I keep forgetting to get rid of it

Might have forgotten a few as I usually have 5 or 6 bikes at the same time!

Suzuki AP50
There were also various bikes kicking around at home (CB250, XT500, some extremely dodgy 250 trail bike, a yam I think) which I used to tool around the farm roads (well mostly... 😳 ) on
.
.
.
.
Gap of 26 years after bouncing my brothers Suzuki GS750 (bored out to 840 with a Yoshi racing kit) off a wall doing 60 mph "very fast" then me swearing I'd never throw my leg over a bike in my life. Then took a DAS...
.
.
.
Suzuki DL650 V-strom
Suzuki DL1000 V-strom

But I'm totally in lust with the BMW S1000XR. 160bhp wakes you up in the morning! Might order one soon!

And when do you intend handing in your licence? My thou' is only 99bhp and it gets to legal speeds fast enough (mostly). On the open road I limit myself to a max of NSL +30 so if I'm nicked I get points, not lose my licence. This is what applied on the 650 too! I found some of the fun went out with the increase in grunt as you could just 'do' stuff, rather than have to plan, wait & execute....

Wow I feel like I haven't lived! In ten years I have had:-

RVF 400 (written off)
Gsxr 600
NC30

Then had kids and my wife lost her job, so instead of buying new bikes I have spent a fortune on the NC30. So when money got tight I can always claim it was a cheap bike so not worth selling!

Hello to Kayla1 from a fellow 400gb member, I got a bolt and nut selection from you guys, very impressed!

Honda scv100 - Still have (mostly used by my wife)
Bandit 600
Kawasaki ER6-F - Put over 45k on it commuting
Aprilia RSV1000 - By the time I sold it I had receipts for 10 tyres over just 3 years!
Yamaha FZ1-S - Current bike

'90 Honda NSR125
'91 Honda CBR600
'97 Yamaha Thunderace (wanted a Fireblade, but Yamaha were doing free fully comp insurance)
'95 Honda CBR900RR Fireblade

Blade was stolen and I made the mistake of not immediately replacing it with the insurance money. Never got another bike after that and I really regret it.

Anyone with a Fireblade go to Blade Day at Silverstone in 2000? Fantastic day out. Rode round the track with Rocket Ron Haslam and shook Tadao Baba's hand. I think my bike was on the second row for the official pictures when we lined them all up on the start/finish straight. We all got off our bikes and Baba-san stood at the front and had his picture taken. Great memories.
