That's bad constipation.

I've had two; 18 months in a factory straght out of school at 16, then nearly ten years at my current place.

That said, I'm constantly moving around within the company, between different positions and locations: Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, North Lincolnshire, Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire so far!

10 in 25 years. I'm not sure which of those numbers is more scary!

Now on fourth "proper" job in 15 years, not counting moves at the same employer or the supermarket & temp stuff I did at school and uni.

1 in 25 years of proper work the other were fillers until I started. Well technically 4 and soon to be 5 but it's been sort of a development through out to get to where I am.

Had 7 jobs in five years, mainly in the Audio Visual field (Theatre/Radio/TV etc)before becoming self employed for a couple of years.

Joined the cops almost 19 years ago but have done quite a range of different stuff (usually fancy a change every 3 or 4 years) Current job is the best thing I've done.

Just done 10 years in the current one and have become lazy as a consequence. 🙁

11 jobs in 26 (ouch!) years. Strangely, longest of these was my first job (7 years).

The current job is up to 3 and a bit years now, though, and they haven't rumbled me yet. Fingers crossed...

As I said in another thread, a work mate had had over 30 jobs by his mid 30s, he had been in that one for a couple of years, must of changed jobs every few months prior to that...

Not counting student jobs, four. Primary school teacher for just over a year, part time data entry job for 6 months, sixth form college IT support for a year, sixth form college teacher for almost 12 years.

Our lab technician just retired - he started working here the year before I was born. We've had people retire from our place after working there and nowhere else.

Dozens. My CV is such a work of fiction that I couldn't correct it if I tried.

Since leaving University? Three, I am 35 so that's three in 15 years, averages one every five years or so, although I stayed too long in the last one, and I quite like my current job/employers and don't much fancy having to roll together 12 separate pension pots once I retire...

That said I work with lots of contractors who are fine switching rolls every 6-12 months and taking the big bucks without the 'stability' of sick pay, payed leave or a months notice...

Ringtons tea man. Best job ever.

Our Ringtons man is ace, he's worked out my shift pattern so calls by when he's passing from other areas.

Baker, 3 years of summers (holiday job while a student).
Plant engineer in said bakery once I graduated 18 months.
Service engineer for Atlas Copco 4 years
Plant engineer (flour mill) 3 years
Plant engineer (Animal feed mill) 6 months
Plant engineer (flour mill) 18 months
Engineering manager (flour mill) 19 years

So apart from 4 years my whole working life has been associated with wheat & other grains!

Though that's 7 different jobs it works out at 11 different employers.

trainee underwriter for 3 months.
junior general rating clerk-rating officer-housing benefit overpayment clerk-housing benefit fraud officer (13 years in total at one local authority).
contract housing benefit processing for a year.
1st line IT helpdesk-2nd line tech support-3rd line user/network admin at IBM/fujitsu for 6 years.
desktop/infrastructure support at a photographic supplies manufacturer for 5 years.
contract 2nd line desktop support for the NHS for 7 months.
2nd/3rd line IT support/service management at an insurance company for the past 2.5 years.

so, 7 different employers but quite a few different jobs therein.

8 in 20ish years I think and another one soon. One more if you count my ongoing job in my freelance company, or you could say far less if you count all the clients as just one freelance job.

Anyway. 3 year average for permanent jobs and I'm done. Either I left of my own choice or they've made me redundant. Contract jobs can vary. Few months or several years.

Unless it was a job I really love (I've yet to find one in software) I wouldn't be able to just stay there for life.

1 in 15 years (not counting temp stuff whilst in education). I'm more than a little bit sick of it now though, so I'm working on changing it.

Proper jobs or part time ones as well?

By my count I've had about 15 since I was 15, but some have been part-time ones (Vision Express lab work on a saturday, that sort of thing). I've been at the current one for 10 years though, coming up to 11.

14 employers including 3 times working for myself as a contractor - which I am now.

All in IT and IT Management.

And 5 times made redundant 😯 , all with payoffs 🙂

7 in 25 years. When I was interviewed for this one, my biggest black mark was that thru thought I had moved around too much and nearly didn't give me the job.

RSPCA for 3 years giving advice to scallies regarding how they treat their animals when they can't look after themselves.

Car Salesman / Valeter for a idiot that couldnt organise a 2 ticket raffle and went on holiday without telling me leaving me responsible for the entire garage.

Van Driver delivering car spares, actually miss that job sometimes as it wasn't too bad but they kept putting ridiculous routes on us making it impossible to get back in time.

Driving Instructor, self employed, no boss, no one apart from the students to have to deal with, day off when I want ( mostly ) think I like this one....

All jobs have been spannering. Current job for 36(7)yrs. however there has been a lot of changes/demanning/plant closures in that time and the "role" has evolved over the years and changed again last year. If all goes well I have 19 pay days to retirement, something new recruits cannot hope for! As a shift worker I have done loads of volunteer type stuff.
Previous jobs from school/college = motor mech. I was the first apprentice to attend a Rover training course in Coventry, Range Rover engine/gearbox. I went on the first Fiesta appreciation course. Worked for other garages in the evenings and weekends for a while. Could say I had a bit of a "reputation" locally 😳
Left school @ 15 to go on a college pre-apprentice course, something government is talking about reintroducing 💡
Actually started "work" when I 10 on the farm my grandfather and uncle worked on during school holidays. Worked on that farm and others till around age 18 when working on mates rally cars, servicing and touring the UK watching rallies took over 😆
