Just thinking about this bed-hopping thing made me wonder where people are sleeping. All in the same country? Getting around a bit?

Me -

9 Countries
3 Continents

3 on 2 continents, though if you overlayed europe on Oz it would be significantly more

12 countries, 4 continents. Google Timeline is very useful for these sort of checks!

20 countries

5 continents

New job should restrict that to just 2 countries and 2 continents.

3 countries in 2 continents. Although the Cornish count Cornwall as its own country so that could take it to 4.

I had a bit of a kip in Delhi airport while changing planes but I don't think that counts.

2 countries. unfortunately for the planet, the other one was Chile

[quote> http://footprint.wwf.org.uk/questionnaires/show/1/1/4

interesting link. Says my footprint is 112% of 'my share', but still better than the UK average.

Last year it was about 80% of my share - the difference being that I holidayed in France rather than South America.

Slightly surprised at the implication - a single return flight to Australia would contribute more to my carbon footprint than everything else put together. Yikes

Fair point, my love of travel definitely doesn't sit well with my wish to reduce my environmental impact.

One thing that really annoys me is that despite living close to a Eurostar station, if I want to take my bike to Europe it's significantly less hassle to fly. I wish that Eurostar would allow bikes to be taken without being put in a bag (and without the massive fee).

Facebook and STW bragging rights, and a black mark for greenhousing the planet more than necessary (unless you used a bike and jumped cargo boats).

But seriously, this need to consume leisure and travel is contributing to turning the planet into a Permian dust bowl that won't be worth visiting for the few ledt to visit.

It's ok I've not got kids so my contribution to the forthcoming global Permian dust bowl is slight. Is the Permian dust bowl worth visiting?

Depends if being asleep in my seat on the Eurostar counts and what you mean by country since some sovereign states (The UK being one) are made up of countries...

Scotland, England, Netherlands, France (on E*), Belgium (on E*), (Stupid sleeper fare was 150 so just got the last day train and explored london between trains), Germany (I think it's 3 states in there), Denmark, Sweden, Norway

So that's 9 or 6?

I've not left the UK for 5 years, last time I was abroad was September 2012. If we are separating out the UK I had a couple of night is Wales two and a half years ago. Last of the great explorers.
