I had a root canal done on a premolar 4 weeks ago and the tooth still feels slightly sensitive - not painful, but it feels a little uncomfortable if I tap the tooth. It is more noticeable in the morning which is strange - maybe the gums drying out over night?
I'm supposed to be getting it crowned next week but am a bit reluctant in case it is still infected.
Anyone have any experience of this?
Have you spoken to your dentist? what did he/she say?
I had one Ages ago but before my cap went on my dentist checked all was OK. She did that by sticking a dental pin down each route without anaesthetic to ensure there was no nerve left.
It is a big job it will take a while to readjust . Have you got a temporary crown on?
Mine neither flared up occasionally for the best part of a year but seems OK now. The dentist said that they sometimes don't work and the tooth subsequently has to be removed which would a painful blow on top of the cost of the root canal
Not spoken to the dentist yet. Just wondering what is in store for me next week.
Not had a tempory crown yet, that will be done this coming week. Fingers crossed it will settle down.
I had one that was improperly packed by dentist one. Dentist 2 re-did it. A very unpleasant experience for both of us as he had to drill out the original bodge job, clean and disinfect the infection on the first visit. If you get a spot on your gum by the site its gone bad.
