I know, burn me now, as a driving god I should know what speed i am doing at all times eveywhere but on this occasion i was perplexed by an odd side road that leads on to a dual carriageway slip road. I'm almost certain that little section is a 30mph before heading on to the proper slip road. Anyhoo how long until I can breathe a sigh of relief.. 0

I am pretty sure I was on or under the speed limit when one flashed me, but there was a car coming the other way, so I could not be sure who it would have been getting.

It was about a week for a friend, and when I say friend, I mean me.
If anyone can be arsed to look.... it's the a513 from Alrewas approaching the A38. The evil van was situated right at the point the slip goes on to the A38, he could well have been watching the 38 for all i know. The offending bit of road runs dead alongside the A38.

Is it your car or a lease? is your V5 up to date with your correct address if it is your car?
if the car is registered to you and in the unlikely event the ticket arrives on day 15 or beyond don’t ignore it but there is a letter on the RAC website somewhere that basically tells them they are to late.

The van sits there a lot,my Mrs friend got caught there a few weeks ago.It's an awkward bit of road and very easy to get caught out as you are speeding up to enter the 38.

Dont think this is correct nowadays. The 14 days is not to reach you, but in which they have to post. It can reach you whenever. They just need to prove that their system sent within 14 days.
Anyway. Normally about 6-7 day if my ‘friend’ is anything to go by. 😜

No. Well, hypothetically yes but highly unlikely. GATSOs can be configured to be front- or rear-facing, but not simultaneously. I'm not aware of any that are the latter.
If by GATSO "type" you mean "something that looks like a GATSO" then yes. Truvelo is the most common front-facing I've seen.

You have to prove it took that long though.
So really the only way is a po franking mark on or after the 14th day showing therefore the letter was literally still in the post.

As mentioned above, they have 14 calendar days to ISSUE the NIP after offence, it could get to you outside of the 14 days depending on what channels it has to go through.
e.g., I have a company car through a lease Co, the NIP gets sent to the lease Co, then to my HO then to me, so it turned up 3 weeks after the indiscretion - D'oh!
Zapped on the Tuesday and the letter arrived on the Saturday... apparently so a friend told me.
Mine was about a week. Did the speed awareness course which I think was around £90.
Slightly different fine for me, I appealed a parking ticket with Nottingham City Council in September, just got a notice back to tell me its been rejected.
I get 14 days to pay they get nearly 5 months to lull me into a false sense of smuggness that Ive won...
