I'm reasonably happy, probably 6/10. I'm not in the best shape at the moment, as training and diet have gone out the window for a few months.

I've always been thin, but in the last two years i've lost quite a bit of weight due to illness.
This year I'm looking to bulk up to roughly 14 stone and then cut down to 13.5.

I look better with more muscle, but too much would be detrimental to riding and cost and bloody fortune in food.

It's not something I obsess over, but I do like to be fit and strong.

How about you?

Does narcissism mean anything to you?

Anyway, thanks for sharing.

I'm a little troll-like tubster, I used to stress over it and now work on the theory that my skin fulfils it's main job of keeping all the moist squishy bits in so why worry and my mummy used to say it's what's inside that counts........

she did used to make me wear a paper bag a lot though 😕

Save yourself some time/effort and just stop at 13.5.

Id like to be taller, 5'10" would do. Can't see me getting a growth spurt so it's tuff.

My physique is pretty much a perfect 10, so I've never really had to worry about such things. I often reflect on how lucky I am compared to the rest of you.
But the burden I have to carry, and don't take this personally, most of you do look pretty repulsive in comparison.
Because of this I do tend to spend a lot of time indoors with just me and the mirror.

Yeah I like my physique, but then I liked the shape of an over filled ice cream cone as a kid as well.

I forgot it was Single t**t world. 🙄

It seems like a lot of people have posted about dieting etc so I thought it would be interesting to see how people view their physiques.

I've always been too thin, but I guess most people don't really see that as being a problem 😉

Never mind. As you where.

Underneath the padding, I have vague memories of mine being a good 9/10.

I started having this vague obsession with having a six pack about six months back. I had a belter when I was in my early twenties and was cycling, kick boxing and weight lifting. I was very lean and muscley, used to show off a lot.

Anyway, I figured now I'm in my mid fourties, it would still be possible. Mid-life crisis number 37 I guess. So I set about doing sit ups (at one point I was doing 300 every other night), cut out all fat, started exercising with far more intensity....

Then I realised I was probably being a bit silly, it's so hard to maintain that level of leaness and I was missing out on so much that I enjoy like beer, cheese, bacon and chocolate. So I stopped.

I'm much happier now I'm not paying my physique any attention (although obviously I'm still pretty damn buff).

HTH.

I'm finding a lack of activity and lots of studying affecting my fitness. I'm also developing teeny weeny love-handles; love-tabs may be more apt for the moment.

Generally happy, but I'm blessed with a fast metabolism. I'd like to be stronger, but don't necessarily want to be bigger. Performance over aesthetics for me. Knees that don't winge and a back without knots would make me far happier than more definition.

I had a phase of being superficial, odd how you become more attractive to other superficial people?! Glad that's over.

It's ok, certainly a lot better than it used to be. The annoying thing is I'm a "normal" clothes size now but I still have fat and a bit of excess skin. So I look normal in clothes but underneath them I know its still a bit of a fat mess 😆 Muscle wise I could do with a bit more.

emsz - it should be.

I don't totally trust men who spend too much time on their appearance, they've clearly got their prioroties all wrong 🙂

Provided you're not naked in public and you don't smell then what more needs to be done ...

Just over 12 stone mate. Not ideal at 6'3, hence me wanting to get back to 13.5.

LOL at the comment about only women thinking about their physique.

I agree that focusing too much on how you look is a waste of time, but wanting to be fit and strong with a half decent body is a worthy goal.

Each to their own.

I agree with you there kudos, lots of men seem to be happy to give up and get old quick, but would be complaining if their wives did the same.

I agree with Bagstard about the men not being happy with the women bit, I told mine she needed to get back to the gym, only because ive been told to mention it before, I also knew what wrath I'd get if I put it the wrong way. She went and measured herself, looked in some random little book and told me she'd put on an inch everywhere, now she back working out, loving it albeit bitching a bit.

I'm 5 foot 9 and 13 stone. Which would make me a bit on the chubby side, but unlike the IT warriors on here I have 31 inch waste to go with it. God I'm awesome! What was the question again?

I think it works both ways, but yes men are more judgemental when it comes to appearance. As long as you are happy that is the main thing, but for me being physically fit and strong is important. The idea of "well now I'm old and out of shape, I might as well accept it" is not really an option.

I'd like to be riding and exercising right up until I die if possible, so looking after my body is one of my priorities.

kudos, many people seem to think themselves old at twenty five!My wife keeps herself trim, but did say yesterday she would likely stop at forty(currently thirty!)Doesn't make sense to me, the older you get the more reason to look after yourself!

Exactly. Most people have completely the wrong idea when it comes to growing old. When you are you young you can get away with murder with diet and exercise (I did none in my late teens/early twenties and lived on sweets, chocolate and marijuana) If I did that now I would be a complete mess!

As you get older your body starts to deteriorate and you have to fight to keep in shape and healthy.

The idea that you would stop exercising at a certain age is madness!

Was obsessed with looking toned a few years ago. Looks a bit like a Welsh Ethiopian so loads of muscle would make me look a freak. More concerned about my health and happy being 'normal'. Only thing I don't like is my shoulder [nerve damage] which means my right shoulder is a few inches lower than my left

If I was just out of arms reach I might.

Anyway, I've just spent an hour staring at myself in the mirror whilst doing yoga. My abs whilst chizzled are not even. So I'll mark myself down to 105% perfect.
