You mean the 1 ad that is there or have you not ticked less ads in your premiere settings

You mean the ads that pay for the site you're using for free?

As much as I respect the need for advertising revenue, I don't like being bombarded/distracted with BS ads. That's why I did something that means I don't have to see them anymore 🙂 If I said what it was, I'd get banned (like I did when I inadvertently mentioned it a while back).

and the Premier accounts cost just goes to charity I'm sure 🙄

I'm sure there is a fair bit of revenue that comes from adverts, but quite they they have to be so epilepsy inducing is beyond me, reminds me of Lings Cars

Not quite sure what your point is BF, I thought the ads were for us freeloaders, and with Premier you didn't get them?

Mooly is premier mogrim. So either hasn't switched the ads off or doesn't like the remaining 1.

Ah, fair enough... I assumed the ad-free thing was automatic!

Sorry. I was referring to the ads that appear when your not logged in.
logging in all the time now just to get rid of the constant barrage of ads.
Problem solved.

Don't you just stay logged in?
Once in a blue moon [I guess when the cache flushes] I have to manually login

1: Ads pay for site and go towards those things that are quite important to businesses, like staff wages, operating costs etc.

2: The ads are supplied by the advertisers.

3: Stop moaning about it. More important things to worry about.

Yes you have to login so the server knows who's viewing and then you get all your Premier benefits.

I'm really struggling to see why that was so difficult. There are of course other ways to get rid of the ads (which mean I also don't see whatever it is STW is advertising, but deems not to be an advert they'll switch off), but we're not supposed to discuss such things on here - I got banhammered last time I did (and I'm probably flying close to the wind even mentioning it).

As irritating as they are, I think it's fun, if a little spooky, to seek how effective the targeted marketing is! At the moment I am puzzled why I am beng bombarded with the male dating website.

The ads are generated from data on your browsing habits

HTH 🙂

Jota - I know that!!!! That's why I am puzzled - where have I been browsing recently? 😉

Its the female version now plus CPR so my profile must be an old-age, over-active, bi-sexual swinger - my mind is boggling even more!!!

Is it me or are the ads taking up much more space than they used to?

I just tried selecting less ads and I ended up with one ad that took up the same amount of space, so no real benefit as far as I'm concerned 🙁
