I took some profit out a few weeks ago thankfully, got a bit left in, but if that were to disappear tomorrow I'd still be up on my original investment. If it has another little run I'll take the rest, otherwise it can just sit there indefinitely.

A friend was on the verge of withdrawing enough to pay for an extension, but has just missed out on the right moment! He's hoping for another run 😬

Could be worse, MicroStrategy is down 45% from it's peak...

If they ever have to liquidate their holding then the price will plummet.

Just resurrecting this thread - is anyone still holding any crypto? Is there a sensible one to buy at the moment (for long-term investment, i.e. months to years), or is all just in freefall and not worth touching?

For macro chart lovers. BTC is following M2 Global liquidity. The liquidity has already happened but takes approx 10-12 weeks to reach BTC and other assets.

Not investment advice and mainly for shits and giggles when you allow for the 10-12 weeks you get a map for BTCs high time frame direction.

According to this - it will rip into june July.

It follows M2 80% of the time.

It's doesn't follow magnitude but but does follow direction.

Do not buy bitcoin based on this chart!

Unfortunately still have some but only because I've chosen to hold it too long. Made mistake of thinking they're all like BTC and will go high if held for long enough. They're not.

Didn't realise Trump has a whole DEFI system - world liberty financial - that will make lending for accredited investors easier. Makes use of a handy clause in the SEC.

Probably BTC is best bet for long term (and that's what it is really, just a bet.) It comes and goes in cycles, I had various crypto for 3-4 yrs and it remained stagnant, then it suddenly jumped up and I cashed a load out.

I've still got the value of my initial investment sat there, I've just checked and that's increased 20% in the last month. But it could drop that much literarily over night... Not even that, just a couple of hours, it swings that much

Long term, BTC will probably continue it's upward trend, but you may have to accept it crashing and essentially losing a load of money for several years before you see a decent return.

I'm not much of a gambler though, it's safer investments for me from now on, I got what I wanted out of it, but I'll probably trickle a little bit here and there and continue to hold what I've got left in it indefinitely, see if it's worth a bit more in 5 or 10 years.
