So managed to douse my arm in diesel yesterday, Garmin epix watch took the burnt of it and stinks of diesel.

How do I get the smell out of the strap and not damage the watch? If it is not already goosed,😭.

Wash out what you can, then enzyme based pet odour remover - takes a few days to work, but it does get rid of diesel smells.

Recent question to me me was how to get smell of petrol out of hair (pet). Internet seemed to suggest Fairy liquid and Baking soda. Might work on Diesel too?

So far baking soda in various compounds not worked.

Pet odour took the edge off.

IPA bath currently in progress on strap.

Am I the only one worried about the circumstances that led to a pet needing to be de-petrolled?

I would have thought a lot of washing up liquid would do it.

A bit of warmth would help.

Pet odour took the edge off.

Give it a few days, it does work.

Been a variety of reasons. Cats knocking over petrol cans in sheds most commonly, dogs hanging around owners who split the lines whilst working on their cars, walking through spilt petrol etc

ha, one of my cats came home one night covered in diesel, we think it snuck into a garage with farm equipment that may be being serviced.  Took many washes with fairy liquid to get him clean and then lotions to makes sure his skin wasnt affected.

A citric degreaser should do the job on non-animal instances though (we use this at work to clean up spills) along with fullers earth, but that wont help you much.

I hear Sudocrem is good for this with cats.
