Need to contact the car insurance people to update some details - and my usually infallible system of saving electronic documentation is proving, er, falible.

AskMID is showing it is insured, but doesn't give the company name and I don't have the foggiest. Is there another website or database that I can use to find out?

Cheers, you may just save my bacon.

Or search email for motor insurance? Look at bank/CC statement?

e-mail - tried that, I'm a fan of a minimal inbox so not there.

Bank statement, my next port of call, good idea.

I use Gmail and I never delete messages, just archive them, as I like a clean inbox. It means I can search on “all email” and find some long lost receipts and all sorts going back many many years! So useful!
I did recently go into the archive and delete a few thousand emails by doing some searches on emails I knew I didn’t need, eg sales emails from shops or whatever. But there’s still so many in there!!

BTW I had to do the same recently to find out who insured our house!!!

As above, never delete ANYTHING. The "e" in "e-mail" stands for "evidence". Just dump anything you don't need immediately in an archive folder if you really must have a clean inbox
