Got 7 of these in our utility room.

Low voltage halogen without a spring clip, bulbs are press in style.

For the life of me i can't get the bulb out without breaking them as there is nothing to get a purchase on.

No access to bulb if i remove the whole unit from void.

I'm being a dip sh*t aren't i, it's easy................ ease my pain.

I think I may have to replace the unit with LED anyway, as halogens seem to be the devils spawn these days.

Which leads me to what LED down lighters & bulbs for a kitchen ❓

You push up and rotate anticlockwise. Your grip is between the flat glass and your fingers.

They are, without doubt, one of the worse pieces of design,  ever.

There is a wee rubber suction cup tool you can get to make turning them easier. Or you could use the feet of the Garfeild stuck to your car window.

The LED replacements are, annoyingly, a very, very slightly different size...

on mine the silver bit is just pushed in and held by a spring, so you just grip and prise it down. Definitely LEDs, bought a bunch off ebay for mine and not had a blow since (missus).

As above, little suction cup.

We have loads of those with small bulbs and wire clips, in the end I replaced all of them with a fitting that doesn’t use the wire to hold the bulb in pace but unscrews - some of the best money I’ve ever spent!

What do you want it to change into?

Oh, sorry, didn’t read the full post.
