Started getting a pain in my nose last Wednesday, getting worse usual painkillers didn't work. Nose swelled up twice as big but just the one nostril. Went to local A & E Saturday it's a nasal infection take this course of antibiotics and if you can use a warm compress to try and relieve the pressure.

By Saturday evening felt like my head was in a clamp , cue naff all sleep 😔 what a crap 3 days thought I was getting there this morning, went for a gentle 14 mile ride the last 5 miles was a real struggle 😔

I'm just amazed that something as little as that could floor a 6 foot tall bloke who regularly rides miles 🙄

That’s me every time I go out for a ride! But then, I’ve not ridden the damn thing for a decade or so, it’s a heavily over-built hardtail that weighs somewhere north of 15kg, with 2.3” Maxxis - it’s bloody hard work on anything steeper than above 5°! 🥴🥵

Slight infection in my tooth the other week, just a dull ache, antibiotics, and anything anywhere near mid HR and I was goosed.

Fun it is not.

Still not quite right a week after getting root canal work.

You're welcome.

I don't envy you, there's something singularly unpleasant about sinus issues.  I've been trying to get rid of a "sinus infection" for about two years now, finally tracked it down to a cyst whilst I was in having a CT scan for unrelated reasons.

Thanks @cougar I've been following the NHS DIY version of that Amazon kit using their " recipe" . I had a normal night's sleep last night so some progress 👍

At least being retired I don't have an unsympathetic uncaring boss to answer to 👍👍

I'm sceptical of "remedies," I only bought it to shut someone up.  But I've had rubbish sinuses since I was a kid and it's honestly been a game-changer.  You can no doubt DIY the sachets but for the sake of pence I couldn't be bothered.

Or was it to shut "you" up? 😆

Serious question, was it to help with snoring caused by sinus issues?

Been recommended to me... bought some in to use along side the Dymista I use... not tried a rinse yet.

See I've got a boil like l ump in my nostril that when I've felt brave enough I've been squeezing gunge out of 🤮the swelling has gone down a lot I just decided to do the rinse thing to keep everything clean . On saying that I'm not really sure if the antibiotics have done anything or not 🤔🙄

Infections aren't necessarily minor things. They used to kill people a lot more regularly before antibiotics.

I got totally wiped out by septic bursitis. Most pain I've ever been in! Ended up in a&e with that on antibiotics via IV.
