He did.
My wife frequently threatens to fill an empty bottle of vodka with water, keep it on the windowsill and neck it in full view of the neighbours just to wind them up, so this lady could be doing the same?
probably tried tequila self...
“Thru” is a lot better than calling a pavement a “footway”.
Footway is correct even in the UK. Ask someone who designs highways.
footway is where people on foot go, highway is for people who are high?
Be very careful if you're driving your car on the drunkway.

Exactly. "Footway" is the "correct" term in the UK (not the US where it is called the "sidewalk"). But nobody uses the "correct" term unless they are in court giving evidence against somebody parking on the pavement* or at a conference of highway designers, or getting all pompous on a cyclist forum.
* like that'd ever happen.
Apologies for coming across as pompous, but as a civil engineer and ex highway designer I tend to use the correct terminology in place of common vernacular.
Pavement to me means something different to most people. I say gully instead of drain as well.....

my wife does that with a gin bottle (although she forgets the part where she empties out the gin and fills it with water)

Fair enough. I was being deliberately argumentative myself, just for fun, for which I apologise. You don't need to say "common vernacular" though, as vernacular is common by definition. I bet it was just water she was drinking.

Reported to Drac.
He'll soon suck that out of you.
I did type just vernacular first but didn't think it sounded right! A degree in English is not required for what I do....
Sorry the sponge is full Percy as I’ve had to cancel jokes today.
Anyone taking booze into a car must realise that’s it’s probably going to all end in cheers.
Don't leave a bottle of water in the sun on your windowsill, it can burn your house down when it concentrates the sun's rays. Seriously. It happened to friends of ours and nearly happened to my sister:
So the real issue here is the fire risk of the bottle left in the car. The fire brigade should have been tipped off rather than the police.

Do you also refer to the 'permanent way'
Am I the first to spot this?

Or have I just missed the joke?
Edit:
Actually on re-reading - yes I clearly have... as you were.
Sorry we don’t jokes in here or duvets.
I've revised my STW who's who of bellends accordingly.

You'd have thought they would have foreseen that... not to worry global the sun never reaches our kitchen window

Yay! Welcome back. It’s easier to keep a list of who isn’t a bellend. Genuinely hope I’ve not caused offence in here or on the other thread I started. If I have I’ll buy you a nice, small bottle of Russian spirit by way of an apology 😊

No, i've never done any railway engineering.
I’ve revised my STW who’s who of bellends accordingly.
Wouldn't it just be easier to refer to it as a user list?

😂👍🏻
On a serious note...
I actually came across an accident that involved a a mum and small child(unhurt but still)...and when I maneuvered to turn round I had to pass the car that had come the corner too fast..stank of boose..it was only 5:30pm..I dont know exactly how bad it was but he was in a serious way and both cars were right offs..
So to actually note the dangers here...why should it affect innocent people like children(spent 3 hours looking after her and she was pretty shaken.. ) you could joke but what if it was vodka or clear spirit..
Drink driving no joke ...and it kills..
