I don't normally do this but today I'm tactical voting for labour in a bid to keep out the Tories in Wales.
Shortly with my feet and leaving the office for a bike ride, what you voting for?
Au naturel.
I'm voting free Bacon & Eggs for all on any sunny day we have in the UK.
Burp.
Voted at every election since I was 18
Today I'll be drawing a cock and balls on the voting paper.
No one, we don't have any elections in our area - apart from the Police Commissioner thing and elections for that just seem stupid to me.
Job advert, check qualifications and references and appoint the best person seems a better way of doing that one.
voted by post
Police commissioner only here as well. How do I vote responsibly? None of the candidates have bothered to tell anyone anything about themselves.
Cock and balls it is then.

Electoral commission have not permitted mail shots by the candidates. You might find some ads in the local paper.
tactical voting LoL
PCC vote for someone who seems serious about reducing road crime
I've voted by post, for Labour councillors who are doing a good job in the circumstances. If it was a parliamentary election, which it isn't in England, I don't know what I'd do.
Lib dem guy wants to abolish pccs and go back to authorities. Think I'll vote for him.
Voting against the racist toff.
Without proportional representation I feel i dont have an option but to vote against the Tories and go with the lesser of two evils and vote Labour..
Voting against the racist toff
that's a bit harsh on the labour candidate
Police Comissioner only here.
Still swithering about my regional, top-up vote. Might go to the Greens.
I see no point without proper representation.
Given the candidates its a bit like asking us if we want white or brown bread with our sh*t sandwich.
west mids PCC only here.
UKIP and independent both showboating loons.
So straight fight between incumbent Labour (ex blairite minister) and Tory with 5yrs on the Police Authority. Both probably more than competent even if a bit Whtie, Middle-aged, Male.
Green for the council, independents for mayor and pcc. They've all got a good chance especially if people stop tactical voting.
Only the police bod around here so probably won't bother. I will check out the candidates spiel (if I can find it) though and see if there's a killer issue (no pun 🙂 ) which leaps out at me.
I always vote but I really can't be bothered to vote for a police commissioner.
Edit ...what he says^^^
Local elections around me, so voting in those.
Also PCC vote - which I'll be spoiling the ballot of.
yep - voting here too.
Historically it's always been swapped between Labour & Plaid Cymru here ... both have, and continue to, ignore the people of the area.
So it's predicted that UKIP will take advantage of this.
Corbyn is not going to have a good message from S.Wales today.

Perhaps a candidate who promises to donate their salary to a charity (crime victims or police etc) and then promise to not get involved would be the sound choice for a police commissioner.
with a pencil or possibly a pen.
Labour.
Local, and seems the least objectionable, Conservative is an Ex copper...Lib Dem wants to spend all the money, and a couple of proto Racists...
It's a beauty contest fo'shure
I live in a labour guaranteed win area, so no matter who I vote for it won't make an ounce of difference.
So not bothering.
Green for councillors, and spoiled my ballot for the police commissioner.
I was puzzled by the "bring back elmo" candidate. Must Google that later.
Elmo
Bobby Smith (born February 1982) is a British political and fathers' rights activist. He is the founder and leader of the Give Me Back Elmo party which he set up to seek to change the law in family courts after his own experiences.[1]Political activity[edit]
Smith stood in the Witney constituency for the party in the 2015 UK general election.[2] Smith and the Give Me Back Elmo party received media coverage from across the world throughout 7 and 8 May 2015. This was due to Smith and two other members of the party waiting with placards to greet the UK Prime Minister David Cameron at the polling station where he cast his vote on election day (7 May 2015) [3][4][5][6] and Smith appearing while dressed as Elmo at the vote count in numerous photos with the Prime Minister and behind him on the stage as he was giving an important speech about winning the election in Witney on 8 May 2015.[7][8][9][10][11]

I find myself trying to work out who I object to the least when working out this years vote. A sorry state of affairs.
Plaid Cymru with Lib Dems as second choice.
I'm in N.Wales – still clueless. Leaning towards Greens in lieu of a better option.
live in a labour guaranteed win area,
....is what 40 Scottish Labour MP's thought the day before they were out of a job.
Just sayin' 😉
Mayoral Election in Bristol, the campaigning for which has been pretty devisive.
If the Labour guy was running independently, I'd vote for him but I like the city mayor being independent of policy-makers in London. Tory guy (who represents Clifton...FFS... 🙄 ) hasn't a chance. Nor does the Lib Dem so it's a run off between Marvin and George. Can't quite stomach voting for George. So at the moment it's like picking a portaloo on Sunday at Glastonbury.
Plaid Cymru.
Labour been in power for 17 years in Wales, still one of the poorest regions in Europe. Time for a change.
Labour or an Independent, I voted SNP in the general election but that wasn't for another referendum and I'm fed up with them going on about another one so my vote's going elsewhere.
No idea at all, I dont understand the assembly elections well enough and have had nothing useful from the candidates.
I think I'll be voting plaid with my second vote as apparently we need to do that to keep ukip out?
The first I saw of the police commisioners was an advert on the back of the bus this morning..
In fact on reflection I might just go for a pint instead, and I'm a strong believer in always voting.
I find myself trying to work out who I object to the least when working out this years vote. A sorry state of affairs.
I'll vote for that.
It's a pitiful state of affairs where I live:
- Tories get 75% of the vote, have been in forever and are utterly corrupt, awarding contracts to each other's companies, hands in the till, etc.
- Labour & Limp Dem candidates more closely resemble farm animals than viable alternatives
- The Green is a well-meaning idiot
- UKIP are basically ex-Tories, previously kicked out for being too corrupt
- A sprinkling of incoherent grandstanding independents
Cock and balls it is then
I'm voting for Julie Morgan Labour, I've never met her, but I used to bump into (figuratively) her Husband Rhodri a lot when he was walking around by Wenvoe / Michaelston-le-pit and I was on my bike - he was always listening to speeches from Westminster on his little iPod but we exchanged a few words a couple of times and he was a decent bloke who genuinely seemed interested in people rather than just winning seats and gaining power.
Basing political opinion on chance encounters with politicians isn't the best system I suppose, but it's the only one I've got.
Spotted a UKIP sleaze near the Travelers Rest this morning coming over Caerphilly Mountain, I shouted "****er" at him, he slyly gave me the Vs - frankly I'd thought a lot less of him if he'd smiled and pretended it didn't happen, but nah - I'm too positive for that crowd.
As before I found a generic summary fact sheet, found the policies I liked and voted accordingly:
London Mayor - Labour
Local MP - Labour
London assembly - Conservative
Yes, I know, I don't like Corbyn either.
Very hotly contested local elections in Cambridge. Must have been visited 3-4 times by both Labour and Lid Dems over the last 2 weeks, which is getting pretty silly as I told them all the first time which way I'd be voting (Labour).
PCC vote only here - can't see a point in them (even the current incumbent doesn't seem to be able to explain what he's done apart from give jobs to his mates) and I wouldn't want one associated with a political party anyway; no independents are standing but I feel compelled to vote so will probably apply a suitable message to the ballot paper.

+1 except we've not even had any candidate info through. Big cock and balls picture suitably applied across multiple boxes I think.
PCC only, so cock and balls.
You could stick a red rosette on a pig in my ward and it'd be elected, so I shall be voting for the TUSC candidate.
That way I get at least one vote 😀 (though I explained how to vote to a lad at work last night, so it's just possible I'll get two!)
Bristol Mayoral race is a shower of stupidity. I didn't mind Ferguson until he came out last week and said that cyclists should be paying insurance and have number plates. Berk. Marvin Rees is a no one though and the rest are either well meaning but have no chance or stark raving dicks.
PCC, I might spoil my ballot for the first time as it's a fupping stupid idea.
Councillor, Green.
We only get a PCC vote here (council elections were last year and we're an "all out" council).
Labour - current PCC, former copper, seems to have done a decent job (Durham are the only police force in the country judged outstanding);
Conservative - local lad, but career politician (intern for Oliver Letwin, think tanks, intern for tea party loon), claims to work in healthcare when really he did PR for firms wanting access to NHS marketplace and now works for an e-cig company. His 'crime' qualification is that he founded the Centre for Crime Prevention, which is him and a Blogger account (£1 on the books, and registered at him mum and dad's house).
Lib Dem candidate is standing on a platform of abolishing the PCC post.
I added GREEN at the top of the list and made that my first preference, then made Labour my second. It'll either count as a spoilt ballot or, because my intention was clear, will go into the second round for Labour and thus help keep the Tory out.
I shall be voting for the TUSC candidate. That way I get at least one vote
Our TUSC candidate last year was brilliant.
We actually live in on of those there marginal constituencies. We ended up with a Tory MP, by literally a handful of votes. Mainly due to the previous labour MP being exposed as one of the worst offenders for expenses fiddling, and being sent down.
Since then he's done his upmost to act like some stereotypical evil Tory pantomime villain, to an almost comedic degree. I really don't know what people expected? Even by the standards of the modern Tory party he's excelled at being a complete and utter ****!
Anyway, as a result of his carry on, and the way its been received (lets just say 'not well') I think the Tory party have pretty much thrown the towel in. There has been no campaigning at all. We've had more communications from UKIP, who will probably mop up the Tory vote.
Cant see any result other than Labour strengthening their grip on the local council.
He didn't quite say that.Bristol Mayoral race is a shower of stupidity. I didn't mind Ferguson until he came out last week and said that cyclists should be paying insurance and have number plates.
Mr Ferguson, 69, said: "The liberal - with a small 'i' - in me would resist number plates. I have a very nice bike and they'd look terrible!
"But I do think we should all have insurance, and I do think we should get tougher on those who don't use lights, don't have a bell and people riding on pavements.
"We should get a lot tougher about it but I would be resistant to screwing number plates onto bikes."
"It angers me as someone who gets around on a bike - and am hardly ever late because of it - that we're let down by cyclists who shoot lights and annoy motorists," he said.
"It only creates a war."
PCC only at my station. Made the old ladies on the desks day by turning the heating on for them whilst I was there as they were cold and couldn't work out the controls. Every cloud and all that.
PCC vote only here - can't see a point in them (even the current incumbent doesn't seem to be able to explain what he's done apart from give jobs to his mates)
I think you've pretty much covered all that every PCC has done there. It appears to have been a nice cushy gravy train for failed politicians, and their hangers on. A complete joke! Except not a very funny, and quite expensive one.
My major gripe is being bumped from working in the Polling Station and having to do count duties instead. I love working in the polling station. 15 hours of sitting around, reading books, eating bacon rolls, drinking tea and chatting with my neighbours. Instead, I have to spend all night in a count center watching people counting votes.
I think politics is a bit like the roads.
Do we want unaware but dangerous drivers on the road, or those who know what they're doing but just don't give a crap about anyone else on the road?
1st SNP, 2nd Green here. Not entirely sure if that's a wasted vote, nationally the numbers look good but nobody seems sure how the local splits work out. So **** it, I'm voting for who I like.
Rio - MemberPCC vote only here - can't see a point in them
I think they're great tbh

thats a bit unfair given they haven't promoted another referendum, its been the other party's going on about it. But the fact remains that they are the scottish nationalist party, it would be a bit odd if they didn't want out of the UK? I think the only way there would be another referendum is if the UK coted to leave the EU while scotland on a whole voted to stay in.
With an x ...
...if I can be bothered with PCC alone.
Both votes SNP for me.
There's simply is no other credible alternative for me to consider.
After 70 uninterrupted years of the Labour party taking everyones vote for granted it would appear that, after being booted out by the SNP at the General Election, they have no concept of how to even try and convince the electorate to vote for them.
In the last few weeks, on the way home from work every night, I've seen SNP canvassers on the streets. There are SNP posters on lamposts and in the windows of peoples houses.
We've had leaflets and letters through the door from the SNP and SNP canvassers knocking the door.
Social media? it's all SNP everywhere I look.
Labour? - Nothing.
Tories? - Nothing. Always has it been thus.
Lib Dems? - Who?
Greens / UKIP / anyone else - Not even bothering to field a candidate.
Our incumbent Labour MSP will be on TV tonight looking surprised when he doesn't get re-elected.
No one else will be.
If you want to get elected - engage with the electorate.
PCC only. Having read each of the respect candidates pitch I'm even less inclined to vote than I was before, which is saying something!
PP - aren't Labour (and the forgotten LDs) going to actually implement tax rises while the (left of centre 😉 ) SNP continuing mimicking the nasty Tories? Dear Nicola seems oddly reluctant to raise taxes...hmmm
One day, the SNP will be measured on what they do not what they say!!
poah - Memberthats a bit unfair given they haven't promoted another referendum, its been the other party's going on about it. But the fact remains that they are the scottish nationalist party
Scottish National Party actually 😉
But yeah, it is weird to hear Kez talk for 5 minutes about the referendum, every so often she'll say "We have to move on" then instantly starts talking about the referendum again, she's got indyref tourettes. Or for that matter Sturgeon talk for 5 minutes about education or jobs or housing, then a reporter says "what about a second vote then", she gives a 5 word answer and the headline is STURGEON REFUSES TO RULE OUT SECOND INDYREF and Labour say "Stop talking about the referendum and start talking about real issues like education, jobs and housing" 😆 Scottish friction, scottish fiction.

Doesn't actually matter what their policies are though does it?
In a constituency which has been living in abject poverty since Thatcher decimated the heavy industry, the risen Lord Jesus couldn't get elected here on a Conservative ticket.
Labour are in such public disarray and are so disengaged from the people that they've taken for granted for so long that they could be offering free holidays to Spain and blowjob vouchers and people still won't vote for them now. Labour are no longer the party of the people because they make zero effort to engage with the people.
Vote for us because your Grandad did and "SNP bad" is not a viable election strategy
One day, the SNP will be measured on what they do not what they say!!
Equally, one day the Labour party will be measured on what they do. That day was the General Election last year. They were measured and found wanting. I'd expect a similar measurement this time tomorrow.
Doesn't actually matter what their policies are though does it?
Many a true word spoken in jest....
The guy in his 60s running the polling station this morning seemed a good sort. I suggested I'd like to do "ride thru" vote on my bike and he actually thought that would be fun. Sadly I had already left my bike outside!
We have a predominantly Tory council with an active Green councillor or two. Lots of local stuff happening here meaning our local political situation is quite interesting (Redhill, Surrey).
There's a new prospective councillor who recently starting running the local cafe in our park. He;s getting married in August and is putting on a music festival for residents. I think he'll do well as he seems to have a genuine vested interest in making Redhill a better place.
TM
One day, the SNP will be measured on what they do not what they say!!
Unlikely, people like the sound bites of 'free stuff', while not realising that the middle classes are doing very nicely out of it, at the expense of the working class, who ironically are voting for SNP in big numbers.
One day, the SNP will be measured on what they do not what they say!!
free univerity education, free precriptions, council tax freeze, free school meals for primary 1-3, abolished charges at all NHS-run hospital car parks, expanded free nursery education and more.
Choice of SNP incumbent arsehole who seems to be taking his job for granted and forgetting that he is only here by the will of the people he is fobbing off, Labour who only have a couple of soundbite policies rather than an actual manifesto, Lib who? And Tories.
So based on manifesto, Libs for regional and a rating of bawbagness for constituency (yes, spoiled)
It's all kicking off in Barnet.
Barnet have outdone themselves this time. Wrong electoral registration lists distributed to polling stations. People being turned away.
People being told to keep their hair on, no doubt.
If I could vote to scrap the waste of money and space of unqualified PCCs, I would, but I can't.
I have no idea who the PCC candidates are in my area anyway so I can't make an informed decision.
Council elections also, but they're all spouting the same crap and none really have any powers to resolve the local issues. It's usually "we will work with [whoever] to talk about [local issue]", i.e. nothing will happen. Unless it's profitable to the majority tory councillors through their various interests.
PCC only - I reckon there'll be a less than 10% turnout.
The Durham 2012 PCC election turnout was 14%, and 2% of those spoiled their ballot.
So, the winner was voted for by 7% of registered voters. Hurrah for democracy!
they could be offering free holidays to Spain and blowjob vouchers and people still won't vote for them now
I would. I totally approve of that policy.
It's usually "we will work with [whoever] to talk about [local issue]", i.e. nothing will happen. Unless it's profitable to the majority tory councillors through their various interests.
One of our local Tory councillors just bought the prime high street location that used to house the police station. The police station he voted to close down, after his mate the local Tory MP voted through massive cuts to the council budget. It went for a suspiciously knock down price. I expect it'll soon be luxury flats
Plaid but not with much enthusiasm.
All of the parties seem happy for Wales to just muddle along.
That's genius, cheers!
free univerity education
Thanks to the Lib Dems. NOT the SNP. It's amazing how they continually peddle this lie, all they did was scrap the so-called graduate endownment.
Surrounded - sounds exactly like my local SNP MSP, doesn't give a shit about residents opinions and pretty much told an entire island to go whistle when a solar farm (on the west coast lol) plan was massively expanded after consultations ended.
