We have one in the shop and one at home. The shop one was logged into my apple account as well. Our holiday snaps turned up on the shop one along with recent eBay viewings.
Signed out of the apple account on the shop iPad but still got a message on the iPad. The only common thing on both ipads now is the shop email.
Would that still be linking them?

iCloud. Mine and my wifes iPhones are now linked. She gets my texts and the contact lists synched. It's really pissed me off actually, we need a common iTunes account as you can only have one on any computer but it makes everything common. I haven't figured out how to fix it yet and reconsidering buying an iMac.

Guessing a little here but wouldn't ipad one have uploaded your photos to the icloud service which then synchronised with iPad 2?

they are actually linked to your iTunes account in at least 2 ways. Found this out recently when I changed the name of my AppleID. The iCloud link (which would account for the photos) is handled separately to the App Store link. Can't remember if there are any others in addition.

EDIT: @wrecker: pretty sure you can have the same iTunes account but separate iCloud accounts. This is basically what I did (accidentally) before I figured out how to sync them up.

That can be disabled. Our iPhones are linked for photos and nothing else.

Settings--->iCloud--->Turn off what you don't want to sync.

Just signed out of icloud hope that does the job.
My nieces boyfriend recently got all her text messages including the photo of her and another bloke on a night out.
Lots of people are going to be caught out with this.

Check the iMessage setting too. Mine is set to only deliver my phone number.

Thanks for the advice. I have nothing to hide, I was just annoyed as dear wifey deleted the contacts from her phone and I have now lost them.

Or the teacher a few weeks ago who linked her (very) personal phone to the school iPad.

😆
