We've just had an extension done across the side return and after plastering we have a section of the original external bricks exposed.
SO wanted to keep the brick effect and has now decided she want's the old external paint stripped back - any good methods/products to use?
Thanks
is it just painted brick? If so possibly the easiest way is to have it blasted but this could also change the appearance of the underlying bricks.
The method I would use would be misdirection and prevarication until the weather got too bad or she forgot wanting it done.
The wall is now internal, blasting isn't an option........misdirection is proving challenging......
Paint it brick colour? Or put up brick pattern wallpaper. Removing the paint will be a horrible job and probably leave quite a "rustic" finish. Gunz has it
Provide the person of the household who wants the paint removed a wire brush, face mask, eye protection, overalls and a couple of dust sheets. Then go out for a ride.
Length of ride isn’t important so long as it’s over an hour and upon your return, the idea will have been dropped. You might have to do a small amount of clearing up, but that’ll be much easier than trying to get paint off bricks.
Slips. Real bricks, but only 15mm thick. Glue them over old bricks and point with mortar.
What gunz said and then paint it white.
