Reminded of this.
LFO
Not the greatest tune in the world, but I like the lyrics:
CJ Bolland - The Prophet
Prob should be in the Techno thread!
I knocked up a wee mix on my sons decks whilst he was at work today . See what you think , It goes a bit south towards the end. 😀 https://www.mixcloud.com/sweeney1903/music-is-the-answer/
CJ Bolland – The Prophet
Absolute banger! Havok in Manchester used to regularly finish with that at 4am on a Friday night. I'm chewing my face off just thinking about it
Ahh, what about this:
Age of Love - Charlotte de Witte
Hear this little whopper from a sister bliss DJ set:
Faithless - Music matters (Mark Knight remix)
On a similar vein, pretty sure this tune used to smash it:
Mark Knight/Dean Ramirez vs Underworld - Downpipe
Heard this recently, fresh and uplifting sounds,
Some saccharine peakiness via a Sasha 1991 tape. It's almost too much... but it's so good. Pianos forever.
Love the comments sections under these tunes, the only place on the internet where 'never read the comments' does not apply.
How about some music with a message:
E Prydz & Pink floyd - Positive Education
So all hope is not lost with these guys:
Swedish House Mafia - Ray of Solar
No idea what the terminology of all the genres is but a lot of this posted is techno to me and was the point in the mid 90s when a lot of my mates stopping going out because the music had (in our humble opinions) turned shite. Sammy B on Sunset 102, Rockshots on a thursday with a bit of Luv Dup, Dungeons in Leyton around '90. That gospel track up there is spot on. House should have a bit of funk in it, not trance. TJ had it right a couple of pages back.
^ House!
How about this, house/techno? Before there was Daft Punk there was Dave Clarke -
While we’re on Dave’s of old, there was also Dave Angel, his stuff got me along the top of Scotland from Thurso to JOG for the Shetland ferry, thumping away on my Walkman as I rode my Marin carrying a massive rucksack into a headwind. Will try dig out some ancient mix tapes.

Mostly listening to Carl Cox at the moment. He’s really on it this last year or so.
Edit: have it son
Dave Clarke is an animal!
Who said nu kids can't mix?
James Zabeila at home:
Last I heard (recently) is the Que is set to become a hotel.
Anyway, thread wouldn’t be complete without a bit of Mel and Kim…
(not house!)
Another mid-90's special:
Tori Amos - Professional Widow (AVH remix):
7 pages in, time for an all time banger!!!
Alcatraz - Give Me Luv:
Spent a few crashing and glitching minutes checking the thread for these two but couldn’t see them, it was where it all started for me in the 80s.
Housemaster boyz: house nation
Source ft Candi S
Edit to say: I’d love to know how to do links properly on here. Tried every which way. Obvs don’t have the dark juju skills…
Guilty pleasures 😀
From the archives:
Benny Bennassi - Satisfaction
...and if you thought that video was provocative, check this out:
Eric Prydz - Call on Me
Eric Prydz is an absolute demon, just love the way he mixes synths and the general production. Probably a bit maligned because of the cheesiness of the song and video that made him famous. Goes under the name of Pryda for remixes.
^Great Tune!^
Get in the groove with this...
Groove Armada - Chicago
Rolando - Jaguar:
I have been off down a house road again recently - and this came up. dunno if its been on this thread before. the first house hit. 1984
Top tune Tj. Pretty much before Roland drum machines and Akai samplers happened. Them were the days oh aye.
Yes, yes; Church of the KLF - KLF;
This is a real oddity (sounds a bit wierd):
Tall Paul remix of New Order - True faith.
But that ^ lead me to this;
Submerge ft Jan Johnston - take me by the hand;
Back from the dead thread...
Cut & run - Kilo
Or this total and utter underground classic:
Luck7 - Break the silence
Nice Philly ??
Try this classic, one of those you totally forgot even existed then you randomly hear it one and you're suddenly transported.
really into the soulful house and disco of glitterbox defected's sublabel
absolutely love this remix, a favourite vocal over the classic piano. a great mashup.
India - The Lover Who Rocks You (All Night)(String Of Love Vox) [White Label] 04:44
and next track by mousse T is a cracker too
beatsbyhand X Selace - Gypsy Woman X So Hooked On Your Lovin’ (Mousse T. Edit) [Stay True Sounds / Defected] 10:13
Timo's mix of Depeche Mode is amazing.
The whole CD was ace tbh. Actually both of the CDs from the Mixmag cover discs were brilliant.
Timo Maas-Maasterpieces (youtube.com)
Timo Maas – Dirty Trancing (Mixmag Apr 2000) - CoverCDs (youtube.com)
Oh, take me back to the Que Club! I recall getting kicked out of there after being in the back bar for less than 5 mins. Was mid-purchase and a bouncer tapped me on the shoulder and walked me out. Except the corridor was long, busy and I walked faster than him so I just walked off, took my shirt off and tied it round my waist. My mate actually got taken outside but tells the bouncer he left his jacket inside, so they let him back in. hehehe
Ha! Just remembered:
Way Out West - Ajare
Ha! Just remembered:
Way Out West - Ajare
Ha! Just remembered:
Way Out West - Ajare
Ha! Just remembered:
Way Out West - Ajare
5 times, in case nobody was reading!
Don't think we've had anything from these guys yet:
808 State - Pacific State
Quite liking that Timo Maas dirty trancing mix - the Azzido da Bass tune (@8-10min) is just guaranteed to get people going.
Yeah both those Timo CD's used to be caned at the afters!!
Goldie – Inner City Life
30 years old this year. I'm off to see G on the 14th and I can't freakin' wait!!! (But it's also the day after my works Chrissy do!)
A bit of Dirty Vegas, anyone? 20min live vocal set upload in the past few days.
WHP / Hac on saturday, looking forward to inner city
BIG FUN
Just happened to be listening to this when I saw this thread was back:
This guy is a breath of fresh air, eh?
looking forward to inner city
BIG FUN
Ooh nice - enjoy!
having a rave this afternoon to justin robertson cream 94 , hoping some old belgium techno frank de wulf gets played this weekend
Long-time subscriber, long time listener, but heard nothing from them recently, until this came along:
I really like Stanton Warriors, have done since I heard them on the Breeze Block Sessions.
Going waaaay back, I'm listening to this today and it's really good so far:
An ode to the title of this thread:
A Digweed groover
Just going to leave this here for the record - the two loves of my life aside from family are bikes and house music - both bring me immeasurable happiness.
I've noticed a rave revival in the last few years which has led me to open air raves, warehouse raves and club nights, all have been day raves finishing by midnight which suits me absolutely fine these days.
The first 3 months of this year sees me going to 3 club events and 3 marathon style mountain biking events. Strathpuffer last weekend was pumping out house music around the course for 24hrs. That's literally the perfect start to a year for me.
Long may it continue!
Really enjoying this chilled out album by Grant- Cranks
https://lobsterthereminmusic.bandcamp.com/album/cranks
Used to go to free parties in my younger days. Dnb, breakbeat than latterly the deep cartel parties where it was house music all night long. Fond memories of those parties!

Well Ive had another wander thru this thread and down the rabbit hole of EDM and all its sub genres. I'm still confused as to what to call each tune and I can remember no names from actually clubbing 🙂 But
I'm surprised stw hasn't got a dedicated music thread/what you listening to atm like other forums but I guess this underworld set belongs here
this fubar forum will not allow me (sometimes) to share/copy paste a YouTube link, I'll do it from my phone.............
\
5 mins later, find phone, open YouTube and share video
What I really want to know is where do Dimitri from Paris and Cerrone fit it? right on the border of disco and house? Dimitri remixes disco classics and Cerrone supernature was a hit in both the disco era and twice in the house era 🙂
I'm confused. 🙂 Now where is my medicine?
I'm surprised stw hasn't got a dedicated music thread/what you listening to atm like other forums but I guess this underworld set belongs here
Well there used to be the Tune Association thread that I posted too much random shit that nobody liked (but 99% of the time I actually did), and DezB gatekept fighting accusations of pretentious music snobbery 🤣
If anyone else likes a bit of disco house then this is a cracking mix. In fact, all of his mixes are.

It's a beauty, so good Mrs imnotamused got a 2 week ban off mixcloud for overplaying it as they thought she might be a bot!
The 5_oclock club is a club in Leeds at the casino and it's absolutely brilliant. 5-11 in bed by midnight 👌
I'm off to see Alistair Whitehead and others this afternoon 👐 so getting in the mood by reliving this classic mix
Oops wrong mix, this one
