Currently with the AA, but I fear their policy no longer covers my needs.
plus, it's worthwhile getting a few other quotes.

Our needs are a bit specific as the wife works from home, so often has clients come and go - obvs this puts up the risk therefore the premium.

Also, like many, have several £ worth of bikes in and around the place, so would need these covered..

Hiscox are CURRENTLY circa £900, but they'll get back to me about the 'working from home' bit..

I'll ring AA soon..

Any other companies you lot would recommend for valuable items (jewellry, bikes etc) away from home...

Cheers

My insurance company were willing to entertain working from home, but I don't generally receive clients. I have insured a couple of named / priced bicycles with ours, and a couple of computer bits and pieces too. They were very good about it all. I have had a couple of claims required, household damage (water / storm) and a laptop that failed - water damage again. They paid out with absolutely no fuss. NFU Mutual, the catch is whether there's an agency in your area. They also do our car insurance and again were very helpful. Premium is now way under £200 pa (for the motor cover).

We are with Aviva.

Never had to claim.

Bikes are auto-covered upto £2.3k (I think we pay a little extra for this)

It's about £360 a year for a 4 bed terraced house in a not too dodgy area.

Try PedalCover. They are brokers so can tailor packages to fit. Really good in my experience over the last few years.

Ive just claimed via pedalcover.

So far, Axa the main underwriter has been very good and efficient.

The 'excess insurance' underwriter is being really crap, looks like at least two months to get my £600 back... I'm buying elsewhere next time.

Just renewed my Aviva insurance for £170. Told them about new Ebike and they automatically covered it for 4.5k free of charge.

Sorted.

Nationwide.

Bikes are covered in the home as personal possessions, so £5000, includes sheds, garages, etc.

Had to claim last year for a bike accident, the bike was fine, me less so, but they covered clothes, helmet, wedding ring, no problem at all. All of that didn't effect the premium on renewal.
