My lad's going & is on a bit of a budget so, any reccomendations? He'll be with his GF so nothing too seedy!

On a budget then I'd go for AirBnB. Preferred area would be West Village, where there are few/no hotels anyway. I would avoid getting a cheaper hotel that isn't on Manhattan island.

Yeah, airbnb and stay in Brooklyn. Super quick to manhattan and super hip.

The Pod hotels are great - 51 is the best location, 39 is the newer hotel
