Coolgardie is a small town in Western Australia, 558 kilometres east of the state capital, Perth. It has a population of approximately 850 people. Although Coolgardie is now known to most Western Australians as a tourist town and a mining ghost town, it was once the third largest town in Western Australia. (Cite Wikipedia).
Me and Mrs. S watched this documentary film last night. It centres on two Finnish women who sign up to three months work in the town hotel bar.
It's equally interesting as disturbing and demonstrates that hard drinking and misogyny are alive and well in this depressing little town.
"My record is eighty six cans in one night." boasted Pikey.
Well worth a watch.
