Hi,

I need to find somewhere to work for a few hours in central london tomorrow sort of Holborn way. Anyone got any recommendations that would be a bit quieter than the usual starbuck / mcdonalds combo?

Not very helpful, but when I first saw the topic title, I read

Hot Dog Skin!

Netdonkey - I went to look mum no hands a couple of months ago to do that. Free wifi, power available, great coffee, good food and it's bike friendly too.

Atlaz

No that was what I was talking about. I presume if I am drinking the coffee and eating they don't mind you lurking for a couple of hours?

Cheers

Netdonkey - I sat there from about 8am to 10am, had a couple of coffees and a bacon butty. They weren't full and I just sat at the window counter and they were happy.

what's the wifi like in Look Mum No Hands? Free wifi is mostly pretty ropey unless you pay for it.

Get a dongle and sit in a library.
Or pay for a regus room ??

Jerome, Library a good idea, not sure I would put my hand in my pocket for a regus room when my company are unlikely to reimburse it... Got a 3G connection so if the wifi at LMNH is poor at least the coffee will be good.

Thanks for all your help guys

Andy

brakes - it was fine. I connected over VPN for my work stuff and it didn't drop at all. Place isn;t too noisy and any place that does a good bacon sandwich and coffee is better than a regus as far as I'm concerned.

Walk around with NetStumbler, and you'll soon find free wifi...

Atlaz, I would have to agree, life is too short for bad coffee!

Look mum gets quite crowded at lunch so make sure you have elbow room, not exposed to being knocked.
Camden council libraries around and about. Opposite St Pancras.
The Patent Office has itself been turned into hot desking to hire offices!

Get in the cafe at the british museum - no piped music is a bonus.
