want to know if YOU have been playing with the THERMOSTAT. Again.
(however, you should try sharing a living space with a menopausal woman - the thermostat's never been busier)
Tell me about it, it's thermostat wars in our house.
Useless without pictures.

My area is sore.
I've put some cream on it.
there's an app for that...
The Mash Nails it, as usual. Needs applying to pretty much everywhere I've ever worked. Presently I'm sat in an office that is competing with the Florida everglades on the temperature front
Women forced to attend thermostat awareness course
Could always do what we did some time back. Late evening - move original one and then install second thermostat that does nothing .....
Try having the discussion that 20°C is too cold in winter so heaters on but too hot in summer so aircon on.
Ah, aircon wars.
"It's a bit warm in here" - sets thermostat to 16'C
"Christ, it's cold" - sets thermostat to 30.
"Bloody hell, it's roasting!" - opens all the windows.
"Who set the thermostat to 30?" - puts it back to 16.
... calls out the repairman because the aircon has died after spending the last week trying to refrigerate Western Europe.
Mrs Gti sits on the sofe shivering and complaining that it's cold, Dovre stove knocking out 5kw of heat, radiator on full vlas while I'm sweating.
Mrs M would have a liquid sodium based radiator network in the house if she could. Wood burner churning through an acre of Amazonian rainforest every night and the thermostat buried in the red and she's still COLD? Me and the dogs are melting on the floor.
"Put a jumper on, I can't take my skin off."
One’s perception of temperature does vary according to gender, I remember reading a study on it.
The biggest temp difference between men and women was Northern Europe.
Im not sure if that means scandi countries or if it includes uk though.
And here was me thinking it was going to be another Zwift thread
If you do regular exercise you do not feel the cold so much as your body runs warmer.
My Mrs complains of being cold but is very warm to the touch. I'm boiling yet she has to check that I'm breathing every now and then as I'm deathly cold to the touch. Blokes are obviously just better insulated!
I superglued the thermostat at 18deg last winter. The wife soon learned to put a jumper on.
“Put a jumper on, I can’t take my skin off.”
This is my response. The theromstat stays at 18 degrees, any warmer and I struggle. Mrs lunge has some lovely, warm lounge wear and a blanket on the sofa.
Mental woman in office ..
'The room will warm up faster if I set the thermostat to 24'
Umm no the output of the electric heater will not go up if you ask it to.
'It does at home'
I leave muttering stuff about mad people

We've just had a new boiler and a hive smart stat.she now sits on the sofa and uses the app to wack the heating up..

My room temperature is 2C higher than the outside temperate ... 🥶
I have not switched on the central heating yet as I want to see how cold can I manage. 😅
Thermostat? We have a thermometer and an agreement. If it reads less than 20°C I'm quite happy to load and light the wood burner. If it's more than 20°C then she has to do it herself unless... .

No chance, I haven't got the app 😆😆😆
You can log in online you know 😉
I can’t believe anyone has the heating on yet! Still in shorts and a thin fleece here in Pembs.
MrsL has her slippers on and a thicker jumper but it’s not heating-on cold yet.
Umm no the output of the electric heater will not go up if you ask it to.
Im surprised that modern houses dont have proportional control of the heating TBH. The boiler can control the output temp so why can't that be wired to the thermostat so rather than getting the radiators scalding hot and overshooting, it just backs off and keeps ticking over at a low level for the evening.
