Had a big off On the road bike yesterday, kept in overnight to make sure theres no bleeding or swelling. Christ almighty. Senile women shouting all night, a bloke in my room with the tv on constantly and eating about 8 bags of crisps. I want to go home. aaah, just heard a guy in the next room has done a shit on the floor. Also, guy in here is always up and walking, but insists on bottles to piss in, even though toilet is 3 metres away. Dickhead.

It really must be hard for the staff. But don't forget, these people that you're in with aren't there for fun.

When I was in hospital last year, I thought all the patients on the ward were nuts. Fast forward 9 weeks later, and I was just as crazy!

The staff are saints! I feel for the senile ones, they haven't got a clue what's going on. I'm ready for home now

When I was in overnight a few years ago after an op I didn't get any sleep all night, not from pain or anything but from the guy oppposite who was watching TV all night although he had headphones in it was still loud. People moaning and groaning and being seen to every hour or so by the staff checking up on me with painkillers. Also the pants I'd been given to go into theatre with were itchy as hell! The staff do have to put up with a lot of crap though, literally and figuratively.

every job has it's positives and negatives. each has its rewards and it's trials.
some folk pick their career well, some pick poorly, but we ultimately choose our work - or not work.

I suppose I'm saying: some like it, some don't like it. If you don't like your job, why not do something else?
It's your choice.

FWIW: I'm not having a crack at nurses, I'm having a crack at people who complain about THEIR choices.

Such a cliche, but you really don't understand what nurses have to do until you spend some time in hospital.

Crazy upside-down thinking that they aren't paid double what they presently earn.
Having to be caring and understanding on a daily basis, often in the face of lots of unpleasantness, needs heavily compensating.

Spend time in hospital?
Yeah, spent a little time there. Not worked in one, but I'm no stranger to nurses.

@Feefoo> Nurses aren't the only ones that have a tough time.
Each career needs specific skills. each person is compensated at the going rate compared to the number of people who can/will do that job. it's supply and demand. Some people don't find some parts of their jobs as unpleasant as other people find them. I've done work where I just didn't like aspects that were requirements of the role. So now, I ont do that job. Took a base pay rise to do something with less scope for bonus, ultimately I'll prolly earn less. But I'll be happier for it.

One of my buddies is a Nurse. He loves his job. He thinks he's well paid. He thinks his pension and propects are great.
Another of my buddies is a Management consultant in the city. He thinks he is under paid and under valued. His work life balance is compromised and he is a slave to his company.

Q. Who is right?
A. They both are. because it is their right to their opinion about their job. But if they don't like it - they can always do something else they do like.
But STOP WHINING
