Very brave going into the water but well done Adam Cramer but please can we all watch waves from on high and never turn your back on the sea,this has happened too many times in the past.
It's a very sad story, but unfortunately all too common on this small section of coast (Playa Paraiso and Callao Salvaje) just that it's 2 brits this time so made the UK news. The currents in that area are very strong, yet the local council seem unwilling to do anything other than flying a yellow or red flag (which lots of people seem to ignore). AFAIK there still isn't a lifeguard station on either of these beaches unlike the more upmarket spots a couple of bays further around towards Las Americas which has everything yet is still run by the same local council.
