Hope V4 Calipers?

I've read in a couple of places that Hope V4 calipers need a different mount that E4. But I'm not really seeing which one i would need to run a 203 rotor up front on a set of Fox 38. So it's probably so obvious it's staring me right in the face. If anyone knows which one could you let me know.

Much appreciated

Pretty sure a Fox 38 is 200/203 minimum rotor, shouldn't need an adaptor

Just checked and t's actually 180 so ignore the above

Definitely doesn’t need a different mount, the only difference is the size of one of the pairs of pistons,

Depends on the mount you had. e4s work fine with the likes of Shimano, where a v4 wont as the big piston clashes with the mount. However if you have Hope mounts (or SRAMs IIRC) you can use them for both.

Brake_Adaptor_Mounts_2021 (hopetech.com)

L is the common +20mm  ie 160>180 or 180>200

H is the +23mm ie 160>183 or 180> 203

Shimano interfere until you hit them with a file or a Dremel. I've definitely done this as an emergency stopgap and then left it in place for years.

Same with the Sram adaptors on one of our bikes.

Couple of minutes with a file to get them both to fit.

the only difference is the size of one of the pairs of pistons,

And the space between the pads is wider to accommodate the vented rotors(3.3+mm)

Another one here who took a grinder to a Shimano adapter, and is still alive to tell the tale...
