Seems remarkably nice for the current administration.

Can only assume this has come from part of the government which Boris Cummings isn't currently sticking his nose into.

Doesn't bode well for the post brexit relationship with our future second best friend / trading deal provider.

And your point is....?

Thought we weren't supposed to post links without comments or opinions?

It’s going to upset some gammons😁

Maybe they could consider them “honorary aryans”.

(this is how Hitler got round the problem or forming an alliance with the Japanese)

Well it's really just extending a right that BNO passport holders already had, from 6 to 60 months stay in blighty. All it's really offering is an escape route with the option of an extended stay, and only to a relatively small number of people. This is all because China won't abide by what was agreed back in 97' and we're pretty powerless to enforce that agreement now...

The real question is, how many will want to take up the offer? and of those that do, is the expectation that they will apply for full resident UK citizenship during those 5 years? One presumes a good proportion of those living in HK still want to live there as they consider it their home, not the UK.

British Diplomacy clearly carries very little weight with Beijing now, The Yanks couldn't give a monkeys. So the best we can offer is a bolt hole for those left with no choice but to flee their home (who happen to be BNO)... It's all rather sad.

It’s very sad indeed. The bravery of those people is amazing, but I can’t help but feel it will end badly for them. God bless them.
