So, got an audible account with a bunch of books I would like to share with my children. I could just load the audible app on their phones but then they automatically also get access to my amazon account and as the has the company credit card on it that isn't happening. The fallout from an accident it just too great
Next option is one of any number of apps that claim to de-drm audible books but if I don't know how an app is making money it isn't going on my computer, ever. You can be sure companies want to make money, need to in fact, and just because you don't understand how it is happening you can still be sure it is
So, we are back to home taping and it's 2018 🙂
Or does anyone know of a sensible way of doing this? I know that Amazon has a family sharing thing going but that doesn't work with child accounts and at least of of the adult accounts needs Prime (as I understand)
Or I could just separate my work and home Amazon accounts but I'm already fed up that I have two amazon accounts with the SAME email address but different passwords (really)
You can't buy from the audible app (well, you can't on the ios version) so I'm not sure what the problem would be. Only issue would be that if you are all reading the same book you would all keep losing you place as they all sync things like your place in the book. You can have the amazon app and the audible app on the same smart device signed into different accounts so that not an issue either.

Ah, if that is true then all is ok. I understood from the stuff I read in Amazon help that the accounts were the same since the point where Amazon bought Audible. I might try it on my phone to see
edit: and shit bollocks to the div span stuff still appearing in quotes, I thought that had gone. I'm going to have to edit it out by hand
I've got my the audible app on my work phone signed into my own account on my home email and the amazon app signed in to my work account with my work email. Seems to work ok.
Cheers, that solves it very nicely even if I have to create a fake amazon account to avoid it defaulting to the regular one. Done
what file format are the audio books in?
Some special Amazon format but basically mp3 in a drm wrapper as I understand
Tuneskit audible converter works flawlessly, allegedly, someone told me, or I read it somewhere.
You aint seen me right?
I download audible books to my computer and then onto my I tunes. Have loads on there including ones which I returned using the app and can chose which ones to sync to my ipod.

I’m not certain, because it’s only happened once recently, but that was when I included the member I was quoting’s username in the quote, it hasn’t happened when I’m just quoting from the body of text.
but that was when I included the member I was quoting’s username in the quote
Nope, all I had included was the 'You....' stuff, not the name. It was just after the end of the sentence though so I wonder if the oh so clever software was trying to put whole sentences in <span> tags and getting it wrong
<span class="skimlinks-unlinked">You</span> can have the amazon app
<span class="skimlinks-unlinked">.You</span> can have the amazon app
can have the amazon app
place in the <span class="skimlinks-unlinked">book</span>
Nope, no idea.
edit: it appears skimlinks is just another way to monetise our scribbles. Oh well
@myti - actually you might be on to something for sending it to iPod, but I really wanted it onto my children's android phones. It's another idea to play with though
That paid software looks ok though if a bit pricey
