Hi chaps,

After a second burglary I'm going to get some home security installed - does anyone have any recommendations on providers?

Cheers

Ricks

Where abouts are you, and how did they get in.

Because youve been burgled once the thief knows the layout and what to look for.

A monitored alarm may bea deterent, and nosey neighbours.

1. Anti climb paint. (those sticky black thick stuff)

2. Garden Pebbles. (create noise)

3. Motion detect lighting. (scare the shite out of them)

4. Security camera - dummy may fine but they must look real. (think twice before they attempt)

5. Time Guard 7 Day Digital Security Light Switch. (light on as if you are in)

6. A dog or two ... all the above will trigger their senses to go into killer instinct. Better with the devil's dogs.

7. Alarm ...

8. Plants with thorns for the garden.

🙂

We've got two proper dogs, our neighbour set up CCTV for us too. It was *only* the shed that they got into, but still took my bike.

Motion detection lighting and a camera sounds like a good idea to me. I'll get onto my sparky mate and see what he can sort out for me.

It wouldn't cost much to install PIRs in the ground floor rooms and a nice loud bell box outside.

Example: Securitywarehouse.co.uk: Kit containing Texecom ADE Accenta Optima panel, PIRs to cover rooms, Texecom Odyssey bellbox, cost around £100.

If you secure your home, then it means the chavs wont rob you and they wont get their canoeing and adventure trips.

Was I corect in reading that a gang member was awarded an OBE for turning his life around.

pha what about the 10000s of young people which manage a law abiding life without doing wrong... So you have to do wrong before right to be recognised and get an OBE...

excuse me while I go and smash up a bustop

I've just come home to find I've been burgled 🙁 first time for me....nothing appears to be missing though and the bikes are all safe!

climbed in to the rear garden from a neighbours, ignored the security light, picked up a plant pot from the patio and through it through the double glazed unit in the french doors of the conservatory, then kicked in another double glazed unit to the kitchen door.....seems being noisy wasn't a worry at all.

****ers.

Stand outside your house/garden and think like a burglar, then 'fix' those issues first - alarms are fine (and I have a fully functioning/serviced) one, but no one really pays attention to them with the exception of friendly neighbours.

Also handy if neighbours look easier to do 🙂

All property is theft.Non of you were concerned about
the Third World slaves who made your bikes.Non of you,
give a sheet, that the number of British children growing up in
poverty has doubled in the last 30 years. No keyboard machismo will
reduce crimes in this economic and political order.

Judging by the odd letter spacing, you typed this on a phone or small tablet, correct?

As soon as they start doing the same youth work he does, they'll be in with a shot.

I have the Alert me system (alertme.com)

I like it because it is very flexible- and can accomodate kids and dogs messing up sensors very well, the remote monitoring is very useful- forget to set alarm- set it from your phone etc

video monitoring - to pc or again to mobile

can need the occasional reset, but overall very good

PS

big dog, noisy gates and a gravel drive also help - he wakes up with anyone appraoching
