Just getting options, the room has floorboards in reasonable condition, the odd crack and cut where the heating would have been put in at some point. Really don't want a carpet from experience.
So wondering how involved lvt, laminate or carpet tiles would be, underlay, plywood sheets etc?
There used to be the odd wooden strip that was a trip risk in the corridors between the three main buildings. The previous building in st James had no such problems.
I had two rooms done in LVT upstairs. I was told - rightly or wrongly - that any discrepancies in the floor would show through. Both rooms boarded out, the high-end LVT and sealant round the edge cost me just shy of a grand. I don't -think- I had separate underlay fitted, could be wrong.
The hostile environment look is so last year
We put Karndean down in our living room a few years ago. Was floorboards. Put 3mm ply sheets down just to take out the worst of the undulations but other than that it was a doddle and still looks good now ~8 years later
