My home office chair is sinking into the new carpet and given time it will just ruin it.
Does anyone know where to get one of those thick plastic mat things to protect the carpet? The type where you can still wheel about a little but it doesn't move with you
Can anyone recommend one ?
Thanks

I use a rubber backed rug from Ikea. Probably not as protecting as a proper protector but it was cheap and looks ok

I use an old rug liberated from a skip. It looks crap, but I don't look at it. It does match the carpet underneath, apart from the white paint splodges.
🙂

I'm currently using a carpet off-cut but the wheels have knackered it after a couple of weeks.
I'm reasonably heavy at 14st so there's a fair bit of weight on the wheels

You can get them online from Viking I would think.

Looks white in the photo but is transparent - well almost. Working fine here and the chair moves easier.

Ikea sell them for £18

^ beaten to it.

I'm sure costco do too and probably places like B&Q and staples.

Ikea ones tend to slip as they don't grip the carpet underneath. Staples do a much better one that has small spikes to grip the carpet and prevent movement that I use and a fair bit heavier than your 14st and there is no damage to the protector or carpet underneath.
