What new skills have your little darlings learnt at home due to school closures?
Anything goes, so I’ll start with a funny one.
Micro has learnt how to turn on the outside tap and operate the hose head. He carried it in through the patio doors and washed the dining room/ book depositary 😢
My son has decided that now is the time to learn the violin. One week in and he has a couple of tunes on the go already, so fair play to him. Though the instrument we had lying around was a half size from my daughter's primary school days, and he is 6'5" and arms like an orang-utang, so if he keeps it up another week he can have a full size one for his birthday at the end of April. I'm tempted to get myself a bass too and have another go at it.
Today eldest (10) learned over lunch time how to tie a bowline on a bight and alpine butterfly (both types of knot). They've been busy pressure washing the deck too (under my wife's supervision).
Fridays are free of formal learning as it's my wife's non working day and they're doing plenty the other four days to keep on track while we work around them.
If work settles down a bit then I'm going to have a crack at Day Skipper (yacht) theory if I can find a good online course and order some books and stuff in.
Can anyone recommend an online calligraphy course?
Always wanted to do it and have some time now
My local sailing school do an online seamanship and RYA VHF couses if you need an introduction to navigation / seamanship skills..

I’m gonna learn how to bake cookies today with Mini, he will lead as he does a lot of baking with Mrs Sims. This should be interesting 😁
