Im in the process of buying my first house and need to look into insurance. It would be to cover building/contents including one or two bikes and I'd like the bikes to be covered when they are away from home too. Any recommendations? Ive done a quick M&S quote covering one bike and it came to about £450 for a year. Seems high?

we got a good deal thru kwik fit, a bit cheaper but not much, have to use a decent lock when away from home etc

We're with www.pedalcover.co.uk. All our bikes are covered anywhere in the world. I think a lot of people on this site are with them.

+1 for Pedalcover. Nice folk to deal with and the cover looks decent. Fortunately haven't had to try it out yet - unfortunately, you'll only ever find out how good any insurance policy is when you come to claim.

I've found Lloyds to be outstanding and really helpful when we were 'done' a few years ago. They cover upto £5k secured in an outbuilding (shed or garage) . Obviously check the Ts and Cs for yourself, but we pay about £12 a month contents only.

Do pedalcover do the building insurance too or just contents?
