.. that includes bikes.

I currently have great cover but it's expensive.  What providers give good bike cover these days?

I've stayed with Pedalcover despite it being more expensive than I could find elsewhere.  I'm confident they've got the bike angle covered - I could add bikes during the quote phase of online providers, but I couldn't unpick the cover to figure out if it was equivalent.  Most of the quotes I got were actually about the same cost as the Pedalcover policy, but they had no broker fees and so were cheaper.

Pedal cover. Third year with them. Might find something cheaper elsewhere but I'd rather talk to someone that knows what they are talking about when it comes to the type/value of the bikes I'm insuring and gives me more confidence that they are actually covered.

Pedalcover let us down on a claim - wrong policy claim numbers and underwriter details delayed us a fortnight and multiple calls to a company who pedalcover had supplied a cover document for - but had not actually inusured us! Then the smoke and mirrors of the second 'excess policy' and weeks and weeks of faff, after the main claim was settled and work completed, to get my £600 back. I wasn't that impressed. Only when owner (Darren?) answered the phone one day did things move reasonably quickly - a few months and many phone calls and emails.

Instead we are with Aviva - who cover the most expensive bike, everything below is then covered automatically. They matched pedalcovers, err, cover. They even cover our canoes. I opted for a £100 excess only. And saved £200 on pedalcover's quote.

Saga home insurance covers them for me for not a significant uplift in cost,  but you might be too young.

For those quoting normal home insurers can you say what the cover is like? What restrictions etc you have?

Lloyds, only restrictions on bikes is they have to have been locked to something or in a shed etc. Covered everywhere whilst out and about too, valued as I wished. Got a very good deal with some personal items and jewellery / watches included. Dis it on meerkat, which is so easy. Seemples 😉

Payment Shield has worked out well for me. Covers bikes away from the house as well. Didn't increase by that much as I added additional bikes
