Well that all looks like it's going splendidly well.
It'll certainly have a pleasant al fresco feel to it.
if that is an improvement, it must have been terrible before!
My lounge will be looking remarkably similar soon...
Is he building it or knocking it down?
These new ventilation regs are taking the mickey aren't they...
Some bugger has nicked your fridge.
Best not watch this then.... 😛

yep been there.. in Nov/December last year, the "hole" plugged by a sheet of plywood... bugger it was cold, but the boys had it sorted in time for us to cook our Christmas dinner!

We had our extension project 'start' ('starting' it comprised of bringing a wheelbarrow to site and then not coming back for 8 weeks) in September 2008 and the developer promised it would be done for Christmas.
Over Christmas we lived in a freezing cold house, accessed via a series of Robinson-esque planks and pulleys and levers over the Somme-esque pit of doom outside. Wooden sheets plugged similar holes in doorways and windows (some deliberately, some due to accidents). Then they bled the radiator system and switched it back on, forgetting to close a valve in the loft room. So the house flooded from attic down over the weekend when we had finally given in and moved in with my wife's parents temporarily.
In February there was still no end in sight and my pregnant wife was getting nervous about things. Eventually in May (about 3 weeks before my wife gave birth) it was completed.
Never again.
luckily ours was done my family friends (who I cycle with), who'd just finish a big long term job, so were happy with a smaller local (same village) job to complete before starting something serious in the new year.
Our was only a knock two room together, extend them both by about a 1.5 and then fit a kitchen... so not a huge uge job. Oh though expect to find builder dust all over your house for the next 6 months.
Thanks for that link - don't think I've seen that one, so we're going to watch it in a minute.
He's a good builder. He already did a big job for us a few years ago, when he replaced the roof and put in the structural stuff and some veluxes for us to fit out a couple of attic rooms at a later date (now done). And he lives up our road too, so I don't think he would want to damage his local rep by doing a shonky job in his own back yard.
Actually this job is better than when we had the kitchen rebuilt at out last house - we just had a sink on legs in the middle of a pile of rubble that time. This time we've got our dishwasher and washing machine and a sink on legs outside against the back wall.
floor needs sweeping...
