Currently with Pedalcover, never had to claim with them but they've always gone out of their way to be really helpful whenever we've gone to them with queries/clarifications. However our renewal quote came through it's gone up +10%, when we've asked about this we've been told our postcode premium has gone up on the buildings insurance. We'd like to stick with them for contents insurance for the piece of mind around bikes so we were considering just renewing contents and going somewhere else for buildings.

Our policy decisions have largely been influenced by STW opinion down the years so any thoughts/reccomendations on the following?:
1) Entirely new buildings & contents policy with a different provider who has a good provision for bike cover
2) Separate policy for buildings insurance (are there any pitfalls of doing this seperately?). John Lewis is looking like the current front runner.

Aviva have been good for us for the last few years for house and contents. You specify the price of the most expensive bike and then all bikes are covered up to that amount.

Used to be with JL until they stopped providing decent cycle cover.
