You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi all,
It's time to invest in some security cameras for the house as a few peoples homes have been broken into nearby recently.
In my last place we had outdoor Google home cameras, and they were brilliant, however for some reason they've made all the outdoor versions battery powered only… which just work at our house!
Has anyone got any recommendations for a system that works equally if not better than the Google home system, and is wired and waterproof?
It would be great if it could link in with the other google stuff we have in the house, but it doesn't necessarily have to!
Thanks!
Not wired other than for power, wi-fi for picture, I use a netatmo outdoor camera. Fixed view so not ideal if you want to look elsewhere. App is ok and free.
Yes that's what I need, the old Google Nest home just needed power and the rest was wifi. I'll check out the Netamo thanks
The old model Nest outdoor cameras are still available if you search around. They are much better than the new ones because the updated versions only save “clips” so miss a lot of events because the sensor isn’t great. Same on nest doorbells.
ive just ordered a ReoLink (lumus).
They look pretty comparable, but are cheaper than the premium ones.
They also dont require a subscription to use the more advanced features.
I believe they also have the flexibility to be able to save clips to our NAS drive, etc.
I havent got it yet though, so ill try and rememebr to check back!
