Sorry but STW always comes up with good consumer advice- my old babyliss clippers have died, the ones they use at the barbers seem much better/more effective. Which ones shall I buy? Preferably cordless, all recommendations welcome- for number 1 clipper all over haircuts!

just replaced mine with a Wahl Super Taper corded, they also do a cordless version. Works well. Add some oil to your basket whilst your at it.

Yes, Wahl corded here, legend possibly. A few drops of oil every use.

Go to https://salonsupplies.co.uk/

Buy a corded set of Wahl clippers.

I have a set for about 20 years now and still going strong.

I bought a BarberBoss cordless hair clipper set. Seems ok and has a decent nostril strimmer which is far better than the rubbish battery trimmer I had previously.
Can't comment on longevity as I've only had it a few months. Paid around £30.

I'm liking the cordless aspect of my new trimmer. I can cut my remaining hair in the bathroom over the sink. USB C charging as well. Easy to clean as they are supposedly waterproof.

I bought some whal clippers in 2000 to go from a pony tail to a buzz cut.

They are still going strong 😀

No idea on model. They are wired and silver.

Kemei make a range of Wahl copies. Very good quality, powerful, charge lasts ages and they are well priced.

Bought some corded Wahl Super Taper clippers the first week of lockdown on the recommendation of my barber riding mate. They were 40 odd quid and have performed faultlessly and saved me a load of money.

Wahl Cordless Senior Clipper. You can get one for around £120 if you look around.
I've had mine over 2 years now (I think) and highly recommend it.

I'm a barber and only use cordless these days. I bought a set of Magic Clips and a set of Seniors to compare and prefer the Magic Clips, I now own three pairs of these. If anyone wants a set of Seniors for half price posted just drop me a message.

The Seniors are more powerful and have a much better battery but we do a lot of fades and the Magic clips are better for this and lighter for all day use.

If you buy the proper proffessional Wahl clippers they will last you forever.

If anyone wants any corded ones I think I have a couple of sets of those too. I guess a tenner plus postage?

Icon, not legend, its icon from wahl I have, and have had for 8+ years. Someone should buy mugboos for a tenner for sure!

@binners back me up

Babyliss crew. Hands down the bestest at actually cutting your hair on your own and not leaving tufts.

If you want to take it all off those 5 headed shavers are good too, I use the RX5 but others are available too. I also use Babyliss Pro foil shaver for a proper head polish when I'm going out 🙂
