Have a home audio query... consult a mountain biking forum, obviously!
I have three sets of speakers at home;
1 - separates stereo in the lounge. It's an analogue amp feeding two speakers (with a CD player)
2 - Bluetooth speaker in the kitchen
3 - Bluetooth speaker in office / spare room
I'd like to be able to play music from my phone (Spotify), using my phone to choose which speaker/s, or potentially all of them simultaneously.
One option I think I have is to get a Bluetooth audio receiver that will feed R+L in to my amp, converting those speakers to a Bluetooth option from my phone.
Am I right in thinking I would then need a Bluetooth 'hub' to manage the rest, or is there an App that will do the job?
Is there an all in one option?
Would it be too much to ask for a solution that could also play CD from the separates stereo through my Bluetooth speakers in the other rooms (or through all speakers simultaneously)?
Thanks for any help!
Not with Bluetooth. Sonos does all this nicely though - a Connect in the lounge then speaker (or more Connects) elsewhere.
Look on ebay for ZP80 or ZP90 models, they were the predecessor of the Connect but work just fine still.
Chromecast Audio connected to each.
You cast from your phone to whichever you want.
You can group then to create multiroom setup and cast to the group.
Much cheaper than starting again with Sonos assuming the Bluetooth speakers have an aux in.
Didn't spot the bit about the CD. Can't do that with a CCA but pretty sure you can with Yamaha MusicCast. Dunno about Sonos on that either.
Thanks. The CD playing through other speakers is not the main query, just a bonus if it would work.
I don't like the SONOS idea.
All have aux in so Chromecast would work.
The Raumfeld stuff (a lot like Sonos, but cheaper) can do all that iirc. The trick is the Connector, which lets you take existing stuff like your CD player onto "the system". Their app can stream directly from Spotify.
Chromecast has been annoying for me. works fine casting from streaming source, spotify, podcasts, internet radio, but google want me to upload all my music to google, and then stream it from there? Apps which claim to cast from local sources only play half my music, google seem to bar the rest.
I've stayed with mates who have sonos. Downloaded the app, it plays everything on my phone, no bother at all. Will take a look at Raumfeld, Cheers Ross
