So the eternal struggle to find a 2+2 holiday continues , wife wants sea sand all inclusive , I want mountains and sea and  no hassle  ..  kids  happy with pool and all they can eat and drink and swim.

Problem is Im not a skinflint but August 2 weeks and sun = the wrong side of £4k for the most part and simply put I really cant see it happening  not for lake of funds but reasoning .. last year we did 12 days in Canada for less than £3k in August ,its getting silly.. But then you look at Egypt  , ive been before some 13 years ago and loved it , weather and hotel were top draw  Sharm was good , and now prices are great.

Question is simply  SAFE ?  or should my senses let me know its cheap for a reason ....

What's wrong with the Canaries? Everyone gets what they want, prices are sensible and you can go where you like without worrying.

People say it's safe but then they've said that for years. Personally I wouldn't.

I suppose it depends on where you go in Egypt to a degree.

That said,I don't think I would go there with my lad even though he is 20.

Most of the threat is perceived I guess but even the perception could hang heavy if you just want to relax.

Then again I took him to Peru and he got a revolver held to his head.

Make of that what you will I guess.

Mother in law went to Hurgarda a few months ago with no issues, but for my money there's plenty of other places to go, I may be over-sensitive due to my mate being there when it kicked off in Tunisia, didn't sound like a lot of fun!
