Sorry if it's been posted before...but I never knew that's what HMV stood for.

Actually, it seems that's not quite right. Always worth checking these things.

From Wikipedia,

Asda Stores Limited was founded as Associated Dairies & Farm Stores Limited in 1949 in Leeds. The adoption of the Asda name occurred in 1965 with the merger of the Asquith chain of three supermarkets and Associated Dairies; Asda is an abbreviation of Asquith and Dairies, often capitalised.

When, some twelve years ago, I was at MoD Abbey Wood I recall there being an intranet site dedicated to TLA's (Three Letter Abbreviations) and how one TLA on one service could mean something else entirely in another...

i miss big record stores like virgin and HMV. Being from the country, trips to the big city where these giant shops existed and you could spend all day! And they sold a limited version of everything I wanted to buy CD's, Games, Clothes, Movies, Posters. pretty much spent all my money there between 12 and 18. Then I discovered indy record shops and ganj, but still liked virgin and HMV for their 5 for £20 deals!

the one thing that my teaching placement in Liverpool in the late seventies taught me was never have anything on you with an ADIDAS logo

After dinner I did a big shit
or
all day I dream about sex

both accurate in my case
