I’ll try again as my click bait title thread was off the mark.
I would like some new speakers to replace my MA BronzeB2s, the direct placement stand mount (MA Bronze 200) is too big (wide) so I have been considering some compact floorstanders.
I have on the list to listen:
MA Bronze 200
MA Silver 200
Dali Oberon 5
Dali Opticon 5.
They will be paierd with a Marantz PM6006 (if this is upgraded in future possibly a Marrantz 7000 or similar DAC equiped stereo amp).
What else should I consider for audition?
Moorgate Acoustics in Sheffield sometimes get very slight seconds Rega RX3’s in and they sell them for pretty much half price so around £750. I have a pair and they’re brilliant. I had an acoustics guy round to sort my listening room out and he was very impressed with them too. Very natural sounding and nice and compact.
Similarly keep an eye on Moorgate’s Facebook page as they sometimes have deals on Dali’s.
Tannoys were used by Marantz when they developed the 6006.
The DC6T's sound very good with that amp, so something similar might be worth thinking about.

That’s good to know Rusty, I will listen to their successors and keep a look out for secondhand. That makes me think Fyne Audio could also work well.
Used to have a Tannoy R3 / Marantz Ki Sig combo. Very good sound for the money way back when.

Thanks, I’ll check out the xt6f which is the successor to those and the dc6t, I think. Second hand they will be a similar age to my Bronze B2s!
