Ok so I've just realised that the tour starts tomoz and this is the moment i've decided to split from the OH and move into a flat.

So as of next week I'll have three weeks of the tour to distract me in the early stages of settling in but......

No TV or internet connection 🙁

So whats the best option to get set up quick, I can pro grab a tv from somewhere but will need some form of freeview box and the ability to record so I can watch it later.

Can you get a freeview box that will record like a sky box or is there better options?

A friend of mine has one of these

and rates it very highly. Looks quite nice too.

yep,

Any freeveiw PVR will do the job. I favor the Humax boxes but they are pricey.
I'd be inclined to splash out on an HD one if you can afford it.

Forget the model, but we recently got a Humax 500gb freeview HD box and it's great.

There's a few things our old Thomson box does that this one doesn't, but on the whole this one is streets ahead...

Don't buy a Samsung LCD TV...our panel has just gone very dark and has menu burn immediately after displaying a menu.

Searching the net show's it's not an uncommon problem at 3yrs old.

🙁

Luckily we purchased at John Lewis so should be covered by 5yr guarantee...engineer out Monday to have a look.
