Big delay for me on the F1 thread last night, then posted twice. I'll try a pic here 20250210_202653.jpg  Holey guacamole that worked. Ernie says hi.

Instant posting on the "New Forum" thread for me just now.

I think at issue here is that Anthony is 'Testing 123' but it should be 'Testing 1 2'. Could it the additional '3's that gumming everything up?

just seeing if theres a knack to getting YouTube videos to display - opt 1 is using the url created by 'share' on YT, opt 2 is just copying the url from the browser bar

something I'm noticing is that posting works ok - a bit slow still. And now at least appears on the thread right away. But on editing a post the updated version of the post takes quite sometime to update

New threads seem to come up fine, additional postings can take - IME - up to an hour today.

hmm so a post appears quite quickly but edits to a post seem to take 40mins for the changes to show

and I guess there isn't a way for YouTube posts to be embedded?

Instant posting on the "New Forum" thread for me just now.

What's the saying about pride and falls?  That took at least 2 hours to come up (possibly more - I gave up checking).
So "inconsistent" would be my verdict.

Must be incredibly frustrating for both Mark (and the rest of STW Towers) and those members that post frequently.

Here we go 10.11 for a test, I’ll follow up with a one straight after as that can cause a delay and posts to disappear.

That took a few seconds without a timeout too.

Edit - worked very too within seconds so now editing and adding a photo. IMG_1686.jpeg

How about anyone else?

I've replied on the other thread, but for completeness,

Clicking Submit gives me the blue spinny "working" thing for about 10 seconds.  That then disappears and it's another 10-15 seconds of absolutely nothing before the page refreshes (hence the double posts I suppose, can you put the old 'slow down' delay in or trap for duplicates even?)

The posts are there 100% thus far when it does refresh though, so it looks like you've cracked that. 👍  Well done.

Aaaand now it isn't, my last post(s) on here aren't showing yet.

It's a weird one because when they do show up, the Submitted timestamps are correct.

@Mark

It's looking good from the posting delay side of things. Something that I did mention a couple of times on the New Forum thread was that I seem to see a slightly different selection of posts when I'm logged out than I do when I'm logged in (this thread included). I'm not sure if this is relevant.

Sadly the lag hasn't completely gone. I posted on the Nigel Farage thread over 20 minutes ago and it's not appeared yet.

I'm having major post lags and also not seeing posts on my Reacher 3 thread despite it telling me they're there. Not timed it but I'm sure it's in the it's half our range on my thread if not more with 3 new ones apparently in the ether.

All this is proving is that the post submission time variable is working.

I've posted before and the comment time matches when I submitted the comment but it wasn't actually visible on the thread until an hour later

Ah. "Source code" displays the source code for the post.

Does that mean we can paste raw HTML?

Yes, yes it does.

I hope there's a filter on this!

[EDIT]blast, there is. 😁

Incidentally @Mark - logged in on Chrome these edits appeared straight away.  Logged out in both Firefox and Edge the latest post on this thread is longdog's Reacher 3 post from last night.  Ox's post from an hour later and mine today aren't there.  Dunno if that helps any.

I wish the new forum would show the last update date/time of a thread on the front page, like the old one did.

(Maybe it does but I can't see it!)
