Claude has been for a check-up and injection this morning, so is now a bit suspicious of us. He's very healthy, including his weight, thank goodness, so we'll have to ration the Dreamies!
Livia is getting more sociable, so we'll attempt some photos of her this weekend.

2 doors between humans trying to sleep and cats trying to stop it. An auomatic feeder, like this : Petfun will also allow you to feed them a snack early in the morning so that they aren't trying to wake you due to hunger in the early hours.
If they are like Bengals, they may trash the feeder and make the biscuits spill all over the floor.

In our experience with a standard tabby, the best way to stop the meowing is to open the door.
She will occasionally appear in the middle of the night, meow a couple of times and demand fuss though.
Here's a photo of Livia, although it doesn't do justice to her beautiful green eyes.
She's just been for her check-up, and the vet reckons she's very stressed, and has lost weight. So extra Dreamies for Livia, and another check-up in a couple of weeks.

If she's a highly strung cat, moving house is pretty high up there in the trauma stakes, but she'll settle down soon enough...

Lovely cats, similar eye colouring to our two Ragdolls - the white and grey male is blue, and the grey female is green.
If we shut our bedroom door, the raggies will either scratch the carpet, or the male will tap on the door. They stop if you ignore them, but come back around 5am... hungry. Being only just 1 years old, they still charge round like idiots !
The catit 'kerplunk' type feeder is a great item our cats love. You put dry food in the top, then they have to either fish it out, or knock it down three levels before they can eat. They love it.
Leave the door open as they are older, they should just pop in for a look round, or even sit on the bed - just helps familiarisation.
We lock ours downstairs as they can't come into the bedroom without waking us up and insisting we make a fuss of them. They jump up and miow at full volume to announce their arrival and if you don't instantly stroke them they just find a hand / head and start nudging it until they get acknowledged. Really cute, but not at all conducive to a good nights sleep...

And another thing. How come that a hissing slashing fur ball of death when I try and put it in a cage is transformed into a big softy purring relaxed cat when a vet gets hold of it.
Our vet tests the rear leg articulation, eyes, teeth usually removing a bit of plaque off the back molars with his thumb nail and then sticks a thermometer up its bum all without injury.
They might make a small complaining mew but otherwise they appear to surrender to the vet. Just get it over with and I will take it out on the person who brought me here later.

I just went upstairs with the phone and took a pic. Simba's eyes aren't as 'blue' as our previous ragdoll that we lost at 1 years old (run over). These don't go out (they are, however his younger full siblings).
Mtoto was more ragdoll (tip upside down and cuddles) but he was a lunatic. These two are crazy together, but not into cuddles. At least Leo the ginger ninja rescue cat loves cuddles (we say be more Leo to the ragdolls).
This is Minerva, who accepts that we feed her when the real hosts are away.
She occasionally takes on announcement tasks.

I love dogs and cats, but as we are out loads (work), cats it is... 4 of the buggers are easier than my sister's lab - they need to get it as a trail dog, but he failed the training classes despite how hard they tried... he's only one, and labs don't settle down for 2-3 years.... he's on the go all the time, and is a full grown dog. A 'big' 4kg cat is hard enough some times....
I'd still have a dog as well, but I'd need not to be out at work 11 hours a day.
Dogs and cats are cool...

We had Bombays (another Burmese relative) for many years. They liked to tell us our place. Loudly. And would retrieve those little toy mice if you threw them. Endless fun.
Re cats at Vets. It’s just cats are pretty clever and realise that letting it happen means you get out and home quicker. Just never ask them how they felt about it. They would rather blank that out.
N+1 transcends many disciplines. Try some horse owners and they will use that description. Makes bikes look bloody cheap.
Took the other two cats for their vaccinations a couple of weeks ago. Leo, the ginger ninja had to have all his teeth out when we got him (cat flu causing gingivitis) and he's been fine since, so we got an appointment with the main vet (who'd done all the work on Leo). She was so pleased to see him in the picture of health, and Leo even had a wander round the consulting room, and 'bumped' the vet's legs, so he wasn't a bit bothered, considering the visits he had. The other cat couldn't wait to get back in the box.
Update needed. How have they settled in. Is Livia less stressed?

Awww, thanks for thinking of us! Claude has settled in really well, too well in fact, and is constantly pestering my husband for attention and cuddles.
In contrast, Livia still spends most of her time hiding under the stairs . . . but we think she's hiding from Claude, not from us. He seems to guard the food so she can't get at it. No wonder she lost weight while they were alone.
Obviously, we need to feed them separately, and we've ordered an outdoor pen, so Claude can go outside for a couple of hours. That will give Livia (and us) a bit of peace and quiet!
Yep, we have four cats and four micro-chip reader feeders, stops them stealing each other's food..

I've not been on here for a while, so just seen this post. I wondered why you were taking in cats that had been left in a house, but obviously as I read on, it all became clear. They look lovely, and pleased to hear they are settling in now.
Nice pics. We have had 4 pairs of litter mate Burmese who have got on well. Except the current ones. They had not been well socialised with humans and both were very timid at first.
We have always let the out when old enough. At which point the girl kicked the boy out. He is much bigger than her and can, if he wants to, put her in her place, but he can't be bothered. He comes in for food or if he needs the vet. Other than that he visits a range of neighbours. She is now a real lap cat always demanding attention.
Some cats don't mind others but some prefer cat solitude even if related.

If things are bad between the two of them - they've potentially been competing for limited food ? then it might be worth separating them for a couple of weeks and re-introducing them. There's a fair bit of work to keep them apart, but it might give both time to settle down and tolerate each other's company in the future.
Thanks, Cranberry, that makes sense. It's interesting that Claude maintained his weight, while Livia lost 10% over a month.
Last night, after he'd eaten, we shut Claude in a room, and Livia came out to explore and get to know us (purring, head bumps, tummy tickles, the works). Once she'd eaten, we let Claude out, and we were pleased to observe she was far more confident. She even hissed at Claude when he jumped over her on the stairs.
Even more progress today, as they are both curled up under the spare bed. Not close, but definitely not avoiding each other.
Tumnmy rubs is pretty much where any human would want to be - that shows that she is really ready to trust you as it means a cat allowing you access to all the most vulnerable parts of her body - all her internal organs.
My boy has always been dominant, always first for anything, pushing his sister out of the way, she is definitely 2nd in the hierarchy. She accepts this.
One thing I did early on was to ensure that there was a clear time when she came first, so every morning she'd get picked up and cuddled first. First to be stroked would work well if Livia isn't one / ready to be picked up and cuddled.
Now they timeshare me - in the evening she'll jump up, pad, have a cuddle, then get off so that he can do the same, her spot ( politely defended ) is between my feet, he gets the lap.
Hopefully you'll get to the stage where they are both happy with each other and can peacefully share you soon.
Edit - whilst he (brown ) is the boss, he often plays the role of prey for her, not sure if he doesn't sometimes regret it...

Livia has been back to the vets today, and received "a clean bill of health". She's managed to regain most of the weight lost (while Claude was eating all the food).
