Hendersons here, much better imo. Mrs and minivader also prefer it to Worcester sauce it but it still galls me that you cant get it down south. good job I've got family in Derbyshire!!!

Worcester Sauce minus the anchovies?

Am a Worcestershire man, yet have no loyalty to sauce. Love sauce. Never tried Yorkshire relish. So how do they compare?

Worcestershire Sauce. Not Worcester Sauce.

Grrr.

However, L&P is the correct choice.

As someone who lives in Sheffield I can safely say that Worcestershire sauce is nicer.
Hendo's is ok, but it's like comparing Heinz Tommy k to a supermarket version.

They are different things. Hendos on a pie but not in a Bloody Mary.

I tried the Hendersons stuff for the first time last month. It was OK but a little bit tasteless compared to Worcestershire sauce.

That said, it takes me about 5 years to get through a bottle of L&Ps so to can't be that nice either.

You need both in the cupboard, they are not the same thing at all.

We are doing some work in the Worcestershire sauce factory and the lads keep bringing us bottles of the stuff from the outlet store. I used to like it until I found out it has anchovies in it. Can't face it anymore.

Be careful you don't actually say that in public when out in Sheffield 😉

You can get veggie versions. There's several brands in the UK, I've got a "Tiger Tiger" one which came from some high street supermarket or other.

Our history teacher told us that the Romans' favourite relish was fermented anchovies, and hence WS is the modern equivalent, a link with the past.

I used to walk past the Hendos factory on my way to uni in Sheffield. Whilst I love the sauce, the smell of the factory first thing in the morning, especially after a night out, was 'challenging'

The building in town has closed and bought by the Uni. New site is near CostCo off the Parkway.

Hendo's all the way (NSFW)
