So i have yellow jackets in the wall of the house found them a while back and have decided to eradicate them once and for all. Last night I put some holes in the wall around the soft spot from the nest, then promptly sprayed with multiple cans of wasp killer...man those buggers are loud when mad! I sealed up the holes I made for the spray and hoped for the best...well this morning the darn things are still there! Not sure what to do at this point...I have to get rid of them soon as the missus is allergic 🙁 any help and advice appreciated.

An A-10 Thunderbolt is really good for sorting them out good and proper.

Failing that, call the council. We had the same issue and the cost was only slightly less than the aforementioned ground attack specialist aircraft, but we were rid of hornets.

IMHO they aren't as aggressive as wasps, but if your missus is allergic then you need to call out the specialists. The council mostly causes less collateral damage than the USAF.

Um, 'yellow jacket' is a common name in the US for wasps.

D'oh! You are right TuckerUK, they are indeed.

I've double checked, the term "Yellowjacket" are usually taken to be vespula and vespula germanica. I had that confused with vespa crabro as the European Hornet is also known as.

Either way, an A-10 Thunderbolt sorts 'em.

Failing the immediate availability of an A-10, a couple of Hellfires from an AH-64 Apache would work, or the chaingun at a pinch.

You could always take this route:

With the added benefit of being able to toast marshmallows as well.
